23 Children discharged after treatment; 39 still under treatment – Deputy Commissioner
Earlier, 468 children were given treatment at different BHUs and hospitals of desert district

Mithi: Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar said on Monday that 54 children in gasping condition were admitted in different government hospitals at district and Taluka level.
Some 23 children after being administered appropriate treatment and health cover have been discharged to their homes. Moreover, 39 children are under treatment at the hospital.
He said in an official handout that 270 children were also treated under OPD services extended by health facilities of Tharparkar under the administration of Health department while 198 children were also treated today in OPD of 31 BHUs and 18 Government Dispensaries under the administrative control of PPHI.
One sick child admitted in the hospital died due to multiple health complications. The death of child reported by Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital Mithi was attributed to multiple diseases as under.
“New Born Baby Boy of Mir Muhammad Rajar R/o Village Barach UC Dabho Taluka Nagarparkar was delivered via NVD and admitted in serious condition at Civil Hospital Mithi on July 13, 2020 at 9:40 am with weight of 3.4 kg and history of difficulty in breathing, grunting, cyanosed, poor reflexes. Necessary treatment was given and all emergency measures were taken by the Doctors but child could not survive and expired on July 15, 2020, at 12:10 am due to Birth Asphyxia.”
Meanwhile, District Health Officer, Tharparkar has reported that 8 Quarantine Centers with 05 Isolation Wards in district have been established. Till date 68,040 persons have been screened at entry points. All preventive measures are being taken by district administration. He reported 354 active positive cases in the district. All patients are isolated in their homes.
The District Administration has distributed 18,467 ration bags till date to the needy/deserving persons/daily wage earners in Taluka Mithi, Islamkot, Chachro, Dahli, Nagarparkar, Kaloi and Diplo.
Under the BISP/Ehsaas Kifalat Program the District Administration has established 20 Cash Disbursement Centers in the district. Till date 60,617 in 1st category, 26,294 in 2nd category 24,120 in 3rd category and 21,173 beneficiaries received cash amount in 4th category. Total 132,204 beneficiaries of district Tharparkar have received cash amount Rs.1596537750/-.
Anti-Locust Campaign: The Additional Director Agriculture Extension Tharparkar has reported that till date 1,032,982 hector area has been surveyed. The district administration has started ground spray and an area of 10883 hector has been covered. No loss due to locust is reported.
