The police party was on routine patrol when it spotted the accused persons present at Mattar Bridge for committing crime

Ubauro: The Ubauro police have arrested seven armed bandits, hailing from Punjab, after a brief encounter near Mattar Bridge, where they were present for committing robbery.

A police party, led by SHO Sadoro Lashari, was on routine patrolling when it spotted some suspected persons present along with a car. When the police party approached them, the bandits opened fires which were retaliated and after 10 to 15 minute encounter, the police succeeded in arresting them.

The arrested bandits were identified as Zeeshan Ali Ranjha Jatt, Afzaal Chowhan, Ehsanullah Ranjha Jatt, Mudasir Hussain Ranjha Jatt, Muhammad Imran Ranjha Jatt, Mustansir Ranjha Jatt and Waqas, all accused residents of Chak Nahalo, Tahsil Wazirabad, district Gujranwala, Punjab.

Police said that a mouser was recovered from Afzaal and a pistol along with bullets from the possession of Zeeshan. All the accused were brought to Ubauro police station along with their car no: XLI/LEH6433 and weapons where FIR number 89/2021 was registered against them under sections 353, 324, 399, 440 and 402. Separate cases were also registered against Afzaal and Zeeshan for possessing unlicensed weapons under Section 24 of Sindh Arms Act.

Further investigation is underway. It is suspected that they have been committing highway robberies in Sindh in the past also.

The SSP of Ghotki district Umar Tufail has announced appreciation letters for the SHO and his team members.
