Ubauro: Various political and social organizations jointly took out a big rally and staged sit-in in Reti town on Monday to lodge protest against the concerned authorities for neglecting various roads including the one linking Ubauro and Reti towns, which are in dilapidated condition since long and are causing severe problems for the citizens.
The protesters marched through various roads and later staged sit-in at main Chowk of the town.
The Ubauro-Reti link road has developed big craters but the authorities have not reconstructed or even undertaken any patchwork since over a decade, the agitators said.
The Youth Forum leader Ali Raza Chachar, Abdul Haq Lashari, Irshad Shar, Advocate Amjad Ali Shar, Mukesh Kumar and others, who led the protest, lamented that the Reti union council has been devoid of all the basic amenities including education, health, water supply, sewerage etc. “The citizens’ life has become miserable as the town is flooded with sewerage water,” they told.
They appealed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Commissioner Sukkur Division and Deputy Commissioner of Ghotki district to take serious notice of the situation and order reconstruction of roads and provision of civic facilities or otherwise the citizens would continue staging demonstrations.
