Covid-19 Vaccination Drive Slows Down in Hyderabad Division

If anyone showed negligence in his performance strict action will be taken against the concerned officers – warning issued

The Covid-19 vaccination drive, launched by the government, has slowed down in all the districts of Hyderabad division. There are seven districts in Hyderabad division namely Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Matiari, Sujawal, Thatta, Tando Allahyar and Tando Muhammad Khan.

Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Mohammad Abbas Baloch taking notice of the slowing down of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the division, directed all the Deputy Commissioners and District Health Officers to expedite the vaccination campaign.

“If anyone showed negligence in his performance strict action will be taken against the concerned officers,” Commissioner sounded a note of warning.

He presided over a meeting in his office on Friday convened by him after receiving the reports regarding slowing down of the Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Hyderabad Tahir Ali Memon, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, Director Colleges Education Hyderabad Region Dr. Abdul Hameed Channar, Director Primary and Secondary School Education Hyderabad Syed Rasool Bakhsh Shah, Deputy Director Private Schools Hyderabad Syed Zawar Naqvi, Deputy Director Planning Sanaullah Rind and other officers while all the Deputy Commissioners and District Health Officers of the division attended the meeting through video link.

Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner Hyderabad said that the performance of Hyderabad Division regarding Covid-19 vaccination is disappointing which has been noticed by Chief Secretary Sindh. “No compromise will be made, so the process of vaccination should further be expedited to prevent the spread of Corona virus and keep people safe,” he urged.

He said that the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) has set up a target according to which 10,000 people of various age groups in each district on a daily basis should be vaccinated.

“The vaccine is mandatory and those who do not get the vaccine will be dealt according to the law,” he told.

Commissioner Hyderabad said that the NCOC has issued clear guidelines in this regard which are applicable to all. “And a law has been enacted internationally, so no one can travel or move without a vaccination proof and we are not exempted from this law”, he added

The Commissioner also directed that a WhatsApp group regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccine should be created which should be updated on daily basis.

On this occasion, all the Deputy Commissioners of the all districts of Division and District Health Officers gave a detailed briefing to the commissioner regarding the Covid-19 campaign in their respective districts.

Director of Colleges, Director of Schools and others also presented their statistics of vaccines at educational institutions.

According to officials, the people are refusing to get them vaccinated.
