You are selectively showing only the mool mantar and suppressing other Indic inscriptions on the walls of this fire temple.

The Mool Mantar and the Vedic inscriptions were carved by the Punjabi and Sindhi traders, primarily from Multan area who had set up a Dharamshal, trader’s halting point here in early 1800. These traders had made Baku as their hub for trade with Central Asia. Belonging to various Indic traditions, they had inscribed spiritual verses from Vedas and the Mool Mantar.

British travellers accounts of the 19 century have detailed much about the date of set up of this fire temple.

Please do read the Mool Mantar inscription on the Baku Temple. On the second last line, the name of ‘Bawa Bankey Sahib’ is engraved as the Mahant who had inscribed it in early 1800s.

Why is it that we need to send Guru Nanak to any and every place. The oldest Janamsakhis neither mention anything about his travels to this region.

This site has no history dating back to 1512 AD.
