MPA Ali Mardan Shah passes away, laid to rest at his ancestral village

Umerkot: Eminent politician, former provincial minister and PPP member of Sindh assembly Syed Ali Mardan Shah, who passed away earlier in the day on Sunday due to cardiac failure, was laid to rest at his ancestral village Kharerro Syed after the sunset.

The funeral prayer was attended by provincial agriculture minister Muhammad Ismail Rahu, minister for livestock Abdul Bari Pitafi, Pir Aftab Shah Jilani, Dr. Mahesh Malani, Fakir Sher Muhammad Bilalani, Dr. Khaumal Jeewan, Nawab Yousuf Talpur, Poonjo Bheel, Syed Zulfiqar Ali, Arbab Lutufullah, Lal Malhi, Fakir Jadam Mangrio, Pir Taj Hussain Shah Jeelani, Qasim Siraj Soomro, Nand Lal Malhi, Noor Muhammad Bhurgri and several other politicians, members of national and provincial assemblies, government officials and civil society members and citizens.

Syed Ali Mardan Shah was born to Syed Mian shah in 1957 at village Kharerro Syed.

Ali Mardan shah started political career in 1979 when he was elected as member District Council and Vice Chairman of the Council. He later contested provincial assembly elections and became MPA for six times and twice held ministry in provincial government.

He was minister for population welfare and fisheries during previous government of PPP in Sindh.

Syed Ali Mardan Shah was maternal uncle of Sindh Culture Minister Syed Sardar Shah and elder brother of District Council Chairman Sye Noor Ali Shah.

All the towns of Umerkot district were closed to mourn the demise of Syed Ali Mardan Shah.
