Peoples Doctors’ Forum Pakistan in its video conference demands compensation for healthcare martyrs who sacrificed lives during coronavirus
Presided over by Dr. Karim Khawaja, meeting also demands enhancing COVID-19 testing capacity per day to 70000 and provision of free vaccine whenever it is available
Karachi: The People’s Doctors Forum Pakistan, which met on Saturday under the chairmanship of Senator Dr. Karim Ahmad Khawaja on a Video Link, with participation of all the provincial office-bearers from Punjab, KPK, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, AJ&K and Gilgit Baltistan, strongly condemned the attitude of Federal Government that has hampered the working of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
PDF highlight the role of Standing Committee of Senate, who rejected the bill against PMDC tabled by the Federal Government.
PDF demanded the concerned authorities to compensate the Health Care Martyrs who lost their lives during Covid-19, as declared by the government all over the Pakistan.
The meeting observed that the Federal Government has neglected the role of public sector Consultants, Hospitals, Pathologists and Laboratories in Corona pandemic though the actual frontline fighters belonged to public sector. The government even didn’t meet and consult them in any way. “This feedback came from all over the country,” the PDF leaders said.
Dr. Karim Ahmad Khawaja, President PDF Pakistan demanded that Corona test capacity must be raised upto 70,000 per day and that must continue till the country becomes Corona free.
Whenever the vaccine of Corona will be launched that must be provided to every citizen of Pakistan free of cost, he urged.
The PDF leaders said that they are devising the strategy for organizational work to complete as soon as possible.
It was decided that the Peoples Doctors Forum will arrange Medical Camps in different parts of provinces across the country.
Peoples Doctors Forum KPK announced holding the convention of provincial organization in January 2021 at Peshawar followed by other provinces.
PDF decided that next meeting will be held in the month of November, 2020 in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Khayam Hafeez and Dr. Javed Iqbal from Punjab, Dr. Nisar Khan, Dr. Daud Khan, Dr. Yasir and Dr. Murad Ali Shah from KPK, Dr. Zulfiqar Ghori from Islamabad, Dr. Bahadur Shah from Gilgit Baltistan and Dr. Abdul Razzaq Shaikh from Sindh. (PR)
