Sindh government to hold International Marathon in Karachi

An international marathon race would be held in Karachi in December this year in which world class athletes would take part.

This was decided in a high level meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput at Sindh Secretariat on Monday. The meeting was attended by Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Secretary Admission Saeed Ahmed Mangrejo, Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, Secretary Sports and others.

It was informed in the meeting that the Karachi Marathon will start from Frere Hall towards Tower, I.I Chundrigar Road, Mazar-e-Quaid, Saddar, again to Frere Hall and will end at Clifton 3-Talwar. It was further informed that national and international participants will travel through different areas of the city to get acquainted with the beautiful places, buildings and architecture of the city.

Chief Secretary Sindh while setting up a committee under the chairmanship of Commissioner Karachi said that Commissioner should make all arrangements for the successful conduct of the Karachi Marathon. Chief Secretary further stated that Karachi Marathon will be certified by the International Organization of Australia and certificates and prizes will also be given to those who completed the race.
