Sindh Today: Welcome to Ratodero Bridge at your own risk

By Jamal Dawoodpoto

Ratodero: The Bridge constructed several years back over Rato Canal has become very dangerous since past four years with wide holes and is feared that one day its entire structure will collapse or the bikers and rickshaws carrying passengers might fell down in the canal.

This bridge is very important and connects Jacobabad with Ratodero town via Wada Bosan and Dodapur along with hundreds of other villagers located on the road.

Villagers Muhammad Usman, Khan Muhammad and others told reporters Monday that elected representatives have forgotten to resolve issues confronted by their voters and have never returned back to them after getting elected.

They said this bridge has developed two big holes of 5sq feet due to which it looks like a ‘death trap’ and poses threat to human lives. They said vehicles cannot pass through it but the drivers who manage to cross are putting lives of their passengers at serious risk because its other parts can also fell down anytime.

They said accidents have become common at this bridge besides quarrels between drivers as all of them want to cross it first.

They demanded of the government and their elected representatives to take notice of the dilapidated condition of the bridge and get it built afresh at the earliest to save the human lives.
