On May 15, 2026, at the General Consulate of the Republic of Albania in Milan, the important cultural event “Re-Embracing the Poetry” took place — an intense and emotional gathering dedicated to literature, the art of words, and the cultural dialogue between Albania and Italy.

The event, featured the books of authors Fatmir Gjata and Angela Kosta, prominent figures in the contemporary cultural scene, who through their writing build bridges between peoples, memories, and emotions.

The event was officially opened by Consul Anila Pojani, whose speech emphasized the importance of culture as a tool for unity, identity, and international dialogue. Her words highlighted the value of poetry and literature in keeping cultural roots alive and in strengthening the historical ties between the Albanian and Italian communities.

Later, Dr. Francesca Gallello, publisher of Veliero Publishing House, addressed the audience, expressing deep admiration for the featured authors and emphasizing the narrative and poetic strength of their works, capable of crossing geographical and linguistic borders to reach the hearts of readers.

A significant contribution also came from Luljeta Cobanaj, a key figure in the organization of the event, whose commitment helped ensure the success of an evening filled with artistic sensitivity and emotional participation.

Among the honored guests who enriched the event with their presence was also Loris Castriota Skanderbegh II, descendant of the legendary Albanian national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. His participation gave the event a strong symbolic and historical value, recalling the deep connection between memory, identity, and Albanian cultural heritage.

One of the most moving moments of the evening was the extraordinary interpretation of poems and literary passages by Englantina Teja, who, with intensity and artistic sensitivity, gave voice to the texts of the two authors, engaging the audience in a poetic journey filled with emotions, reflections, and evocative imagery.

Special attention was dedicated to Angela Kosta, an author who over the years has distinguished herself through an intense and profoundly human literary production. Her poetry explores universal themes such as love, nostalgia, memory, female identity, pain, and hope, successfully blending stylistic elegance with emotional authenticity. Through delicate yet powerful writing, Angela Kosta today represents one of the most appreciated voices of contemporary Albanian literature within the European cultural diaspora.

Her works do not merely narrate personal emotions but become instruments of connection between different cultures, promoting intercultural dialogue and enhancing the richness of Balkan artistic roots. Her presence at the event once again confirmed the fundamental role of poetry as a universal language, capable of breaking down linguistic barriers and creating closeness among peoples.

The evening concluded with an elegant convivial cocktail reception, during which guests, authors, and participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, share opinions, and strengthen those cultural bridges that for centuries have united Albania and Italy through art, traditions, history, and shared values.

“Re-Embracing Poetry” was not merely a literary event, but a true encounter of souls, memories, and cultures, destined to leave a significant mark on the contemporary Italo-Albanian cultural landscape.

The Albanian Journalists Union, in its first event Italo-Albanian Cultural Expressions, in collaboration with the Italian association “VerbumlandiArt,” opened an international dialogue between culture, journalism, and social engagement: “Verbum Mundi”.

On April 28, 2026, in Tirana, the Albanian capital, the inaugural event of the international project “Verbum Mundi,” promoted by the Italian association VerbumlandiArt APS and carried out in cooperation with the Albanian Journalists Union (UGSH), took place. A high-level activity that brought together Italian and Albanian representatives in the name of intercultural dialogue and cooperation between peoples.

The official opening of the initiative was marked by the President of the Italian association, Regina Resta, and Aleksandër Çipa, key figures in a meeting that laid the foundations for an international cultural network aimed at promoting excellence in the fields of literature, art, journalism, and social engagement.

The “Verbum Mundi” project was presented as an authoritative space for dialogue and collaboration, based on shared values such as peace, justice, human dignity, and cultural responsibility. These themes, in the current global context, were repeatedly emphasized during the speeches, highlighting the need to create spaces for genuine and sustainable dialogue.

One of the main moments of the day was the award ceremony for personalities distinguished in their respective fields. Among those honored were writers, scholars, publicists, and translators such as Xhevahir Spahiu, Virion Graci, Behar Gjoka, Namik Dokle, Viola Isufaj, Engjell Seriani, Erion Kristo, Flutura Acka, Mujo Bucpapaj, Aleksandër Çipa, and Artur Nura. They were recognized by VerbumlandiArt with various awards, including the Special Excellence Award in several fields and Journalism, demonstrating the project’s attention to the value of international information and dialogue between different media systems.

“Verbum Mundi represents a broad and concrete vision: the creation of real connections between different cultures, valuing merit and promoting a culture of responsibility and dialogue,” stated Regina Resta during the event, emphasizing that Tirana is only the first step in an international journey that will include other European countries and beyond.

The project envisions a series of stops and itineraries, with high-level cultural and institutional activities designed as meeting points between institutions, intellectuals, and cultural operators, with the aim of building an international community based on shared values and cooperation among excellence.

The Italian delegation, present in large numbers, included among others Mirella Cristina, Francesco Lenoci, Eugenio Bisceglia, Maria Pia Turiello, Vinicio Leonetti, Tommaso Filieri, and Angela Kosta.

On this occasion, translator and writer Kosta was awarded the UGSH “Branko Merxhani” Prize with the motivation: “For a specific contribution to intercultural and literary relations between Italy and Albania. Through her work as a writer, translator, poet, and publicist, she stands out as a representative of Albanian cultural expression in Europe.”

With this first event, moderated by the journalist, poet, and well-known TV host from Pristina, Ms. Alketa Gashi Fazliu, “Verbum Mundi” aims to become a reference point in the international cultural landscape, strengthening the role of VerbumlandiArt APS as a dynamic and active entity in promoting dialogue between cultures.

Afterwards, the book by author Regina Resta, “I REMAIN WORD,” translated by Angela Kosta, was presented.

Angela Kosta writes: In the book I REMAIN WORD by the author Regina Resta (while translating it), in every poem, in every verse, I touched her beautiful and noble soul—one not confined to thoughts, expressions, desires, or words, but expanding into a narrative psychological oneirism as well as an extreme animism. As also mentioned by Aleksandër Çipa in the foreword of this book:

“Regina Resta has the Olympic traits of an odyssean lady, ceaseless and tireless, with a spirit and breath that climb toward heights, with the restraint of a mind that, while keeping the forge of the word lit every day, seeks to leave it written and spoken. As a writer herself, she aspires to ‘remain word.’ This non-biblical desire conveys a biblical message to present and future readers, and now also to Albanian readers…”

I, as a translator, am convinced that this will be confirmed in the continuity and presence of this poetic work within the Albanian literary and artistic landscape. I add “artistic” because this book extensively addresses artistic contexts. The rich metaphors, the multiple perspectives—with and without conceptual frameworks (yet always clearly and rightly detailed)—embody not only her personality but also her figure as a multifaceted author, who addresses contemporary themes, asks questions, provides answers, and at the same time responds to the injustices of every era, every individual, every society, every moment of life.

In her poetry, Resta paints precisely the universal human existence; she does so by using brushes and colors that correspond to the stages of life, beginning from childhood, adolescence, the first heartbeats, unrealized loves, along with the sufferings, impulses, joys, and disappointments that pour through waves, flowing into the ocean of expectation, loneliness, distance, those once warm and friendly embraces now far from memory—or lost in oblivion itself.

Through her pen, the author Resta examines with precision and temporality every aspect of life, because she knows very well that, as the great philosopher Plato said: “The unexamined life is not worth living,” and this is the right path to achieve that.

This is why Regina Resta is and will remain “word,” because by examining life, she adds value to herself and maintains awareness over the steps she takes toward tomorrow. A tomorrow that invites her—and invites us—to know how to observe, to listen, to speak, so that we too may remain “word,” words of love, peace, and harmony.

Interview with Angela Kosta:

– In the book you describe depression as “a dark shadow that enters on tiptoe.” When did you realize that your rebirth had begun?

When I saw a small light at the end of the tunnel. It wasn’t a sudden miracle, but a glimmer. The reduction of medication, the return to reading, the simple gesture of a magazine arriving punctually… these were the first signs that something was changing.

– Your children and grandchildren are central presences. What role did they play in your recovery?

They were my anchor. My children are the light that never goes out, my grandchildren the smile that breaks the silence. In them I found the strength to continue living.

– The loss of your brother and your mother are two deep wounds. How do they live today in your memory?

They are wounds that do not close, but become part of you. My brother is a memory that accompanies me, my mother a voice that remains. They continue to live in my gestures, in my thoughts, in my way of loving.

– Writing appears as a return to life. What does it represent for you today?

It is salvation. It is the place where I can transform pain into words and fragility into strength. Writing allowed me to find myself again.

– Is there a message you wish to leave to readers?

That even in the deepest darkness there is a light. Sometimes it is small, almost invisible, but it exists. And it is worth searching for.

On February 7, the city of Asti hosted two deeply emotional events: the presentation of writer Angela Kosta’s novel The Mother’s Eyes, second edition, published in Italy by G.C.L. Edizione under the direction of publisher Giancarlo Lissi. Although I was unable to attend due to commitments in Calabria, I followed every detail closely through social media, where Angela shared her experience with sincere and touching words, as well as through a pleasant phone conversation.

The writer described the day as “beautiful and unforgettable,” experienced in a warm, welcoming, family-like atmosphere filled with mutual affection. The audience participated with great interest, engaging in a profound dialogue on delicate and highly relevant issues such as femicide and the complex parent-child relationship, with contributions, questions, and reflections that enriched the presentation.

The event was organized by the Albanian Artistic and Cultural Center “Margarita Xhepa,” the Forumi I Gruas Shqiptare – The Albanian Women’s Forum (Asti), with the support of the Association AssoAlbania Asti, represented by its President Marjan Bjeshkza. Among the authorities present were the Mayor of Asti, Maurizio Rasero, the President of the Provincial Council for Equal Opportunities, Dr. Bianca Terzuolo, and the President of the Equality Council of the Municipality of Asti, Dr. Nadia Milleto.

Angela expressed special thanks to the moderator, Sabina Darova, who led the meeting with professionalism, and to the pianist Sonila Molla, who accompanied the reading of selected excerpts from the novel with an evocative musical background, performing compositions by the renowned composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The readings, performed by various participants, gave voice to the pages of the novel, intensifying its emotional impact.

However, Saturday also brought another joy and emotion: the presentation of her niece Chanel Bashhysa’s first fairy tale book, Michelle and Her Princess Dream, published by Kubera Edizioni (Italy), a debut warmly welcomed with enthusiasm and affection. For Angela, it was a double joy: seeing her own work appreciated and, at the same time, witnessing the first literary steps of a young author in her family. A double emotion that made the event even more special.

Angela Kosta is a prominent figure in the Italian-Albanian cultural scene. A writer, journalist, and international promoter, she is the director of the literary magazine MIRIADE, a reference point for cultural exchange between Italy and Albania, as well as THE LANTERNS OF POETRY GLOBAL and NUANCES ON THE PANORAMIC. She collaborates with several newspapers and international magazines. She has published poetry collections, novels, and children’s fairy tales translated into 12 languages.

Her texts have been translated and published in 45 languages and countries. She is the editor and co-editor of numerous anthologies in Italy and abroad. She has translated 1,500 texts by various authors into Italian and Albanian, including reviews, interviews, poems, short stories, literary criticism, and academic studies. She has served and continues to serve as a jury member for various literary competitions in Italy and abroad. She is a member of associations registered with the United Nations and the Italian Senate. She has received numerous prestigious awards as best translator, cultural promoter, and poet in various countries, including the “Naji Naaman,” the “Oscar Wilde” Award from the Italian Critics Association and the European Parliament (Brussels), the Excellence in Literature Award, the title of Ambassador of Culture, and the Dr. Honoris Causa medal under the patronage of the European Parliament. She is also Director of the International Press at the Accademia Tiberina (Rome) and the Chair of Italian Women (UN).

Of Albanian origin, she has lived in Italy for thirty years, where she is appreciated for her talent, sensitivity, and tireless commitment to promoting literature. Awarded multiple times in prestigious literary competitions and internationally recognized, Angela represents an authoritative and refined voice in the contemporary literary world. Her work is valued not only for the quality of her writing but also for her ability to address profound themes with delicacy and clarity.

Here is how she responded to questions for our magazine, Saturno Magazine:

Angela, how would you describe the atmosphere of the presentation in Asti?

It was an unforgettable experience. I felt part of a big family, welcomed with affection and admiration. Every moment was filled with emotion.

Which themes sparked the greatest interest among the audience?

Certainly femicide, unfortunately a current and painful issue, and the parent-child relationship, with all the difficulties it entails. There were profound contributions, questions, and exchanges of opinions that enriched the dialogue.

What made this day even more special?

The presentation of my niece Chanel’s first book. Seeing her enthusiasm and the warmth of the audience, especially the children from the center who surrounded her with so much affection, was and will remain an extraordinary gift. A double emotion, a double success.

Is there anyone you would like to thank in particular?

It is rare for an author to be overwhelmed by a feeling of complete happiness. It happened to Chanel and to me! Not only through words, but through actions. During the event, everything enveloped us in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, as if we were in a large home. I was deeply touched by the way the children asked Chanel questions, their maturity, and their desire to go beyond the writing of a fairy tale… Saying THANK YOU is truly not enough. This day will remain in our memories, in those embraces filled with love. With deep gratitude, we once again thank the Albanian Artistic and Cultural Center “Margarita Xhepa,” the Albanian school Udha e Shkronjave, all the organizers, the authorities present, the moderator Sabina Darova, the pianist Sonila Molla, and everyone who read excerpts from the novel.

The presentation of the novel The Mother’s Eyes, translated and published also in Albanian and Turkish, was not just a literary event, but a spiritual encounter, a moment of collective reflection, and an opportunity to celebrate talent, culture, and family bonds. For Angela Kosta, a writer with a strong and authentic voice, it was a day that will remain engraved in memory: a personal and family success, an embrace from the community, and a confirmation of the value of her work.

Angela Kosta, a well-known figure in the global literary landscape, has been declared winner in several prestigious international literary competitions held in Italy. In addition, she received the honorary appointment as Head of the Press Office of the Tiberina Academy and the Women’s Chair Association, registered with the United Nations.

On September 14, 2025, in Bonate Sotto (Bergamo), the “International Artistic Literary Movement Group” Association, chaired by Dr. Anna Maria Lombardi, organized the event: Magia Delle Parole- Quello che non dissi mai – The Magic of Words – “What I Never Said”, 4th Edition. Angela Kosta was awarded the Extra Competition Tribute Award for her commitment as a Translator and Cultural Promoter on an international level. She also received a medal and an Honorable Mention for the poem “Sculpted Symphony”, in memory of the tragedy of the Albanians who disappeared in the Otranto Channel on March 28, 1997.

The event was held under the patronage of the Lombardy Region, Province of Bergamo, Municipality of Bonate Sotto, etc.

Nearly three intense hours were spent in the company of the authors’ wonderful verses, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

In addition to the President, Cav. Dr. Anna Maria Lombardi, the Vice President Dr. Maria Pellino, Mayor Carlo Previtali, and Culture Councillor Mattia Liga were also present. Many participants were awarded, some multiple times, with over 150 attendees from all over Italy, as well as from Kosovo, Albania, France, Germany, Yugoslavia, Romania, and more. During the event, Dr. Chiara Medolago and Carlo Zanutto also gave speeches.

On September 15, 2025, at the prestigious Villa of Guido Gozzano in Agliè (Turin), during the 15th Edition of the contest “Il Meleto di Guido Gozzano”, chaired by Lidia Chiarelli, in the category: Foreign Language Authors, Angela Kosta was proclaimed winner of the Grand Jury Prize with her unpublished poem: “The Torment of the Earth.”

The Board of Directors of the Tiberina Academy, in the name of its President Cav. Dr. Franco Antonio Pinardi and the Director of the “Cattedra Delle Donne – Women’s Chair”, Dr. Antonietta Micali, with the President Dr. Renato Ongania, unanimously resolved to confer upon Angela Kosta the honorary title of Head of the Press Office of the Tiberina Academy and the Women’s Chair (registered with the United Nations).

This honorary role represents an official recognition of Kosta’s valuable contribution and her prominent role within the institutional and communication context.

Earlier this year on March 1, in the Municipality of Taggia, Province of Imperia, the 31st edition of the National Award for Unpublished Poetry “Ossi di Seppia” took place. The President of the Award, Municipal Culture Councillor Dr. Chiara Cerri, and the Secretary of the Award, Lamberto Garzia, declared Angela Kosta the winner of the Grand Jury Prize – Section A with the poem: “Resilience”.

The publishing house “Nacional”, based in Tirana, has announced the release of the poetry anthology The World Muse in Albanian, a representative work that brings into the Albanian language the poetic voices of 45 contemporary authors from across the globe. This anthology has been published in both print and electronic formats and represents a significant act of cultural and translational intercommunication within the Albanian literary space.

The selection, translation, and inclusion of biographical notes for each author have been carried out with exceptional professional dedication by the renowned translator and international literary promoter, Angela Kosta. On this occasion, I extend my deepest appreciation for her careful, high-quality, and generous work, which has enabled the realization of this publication to a high artistic and cultural standard.

The cover of the book was masterfully created by the internationally acclaimed Albanian-American painter, Nazmi Hoxha, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks.

Due to space limitations in this first volume, a number of authors could not be included; however, they will be featured in a second anthology, currently in preparation and scheduled for publication later this year, as a natural continuation of this international literary project.

Back to us, I would like to point out that my journey was not driven by fame or ambition, but by a need of the soul. After four long years away from the outside world (due to my illness), I wanted to communicate, to embrace the world with words. As a child in Albania, I learned that words are both refuge and resistance. When I left my country for Italy, I brought with me not only the nostalgia for my homeland, but also a silent mission: to be a voice for those who cannot speak, a light for those who live in the shadows. This strength comes from pain transformed into compassion, from the desire to build bridges—not walls (as Pope Francis said)—where others see barriers. Every poem, every translation, every cultural gesture comes from a genuine will to serve the collective good, not as a role but as a vocation. Reaching the hearts of so many authors around the world is a miracle that happens when you write with truth, humility, and dedication.

— Poetry is the interpreter of the soul, the echo of the heart. For you, is poetry simply a means of artistic expression or a divine gift?

— Poetry is not just an artistic medium for me, but a sacred heartbeat. It’s as if the words choose me, as if every verse is already written through time and I’m merely the channel to bring them forth. I believe poetry is a divine gift, an eternal language that connects us to both heaven and earth. But this gift must be cultivated with study, discipline, and love. Inspiration alone is not enough—you must also perceive it, translate that spark into words that have a life of their own. For me, every poem is an act of love, a spiritual offering, a candle lit in the darkness of the world. Through poetry, I can give voice to silence, heal invisible wounds, and unite what is divided.

— Poetry and translation—one carries the sacred essence of language, the other unveils it in a new form. What inner differences do you perceive between these two paths? How has translation opened the doors to new worlds for you?

— Writing poetry means listening to the voice of your own soul. Translating means listening to the voices of others. When I write, I dive into my emotions, memories, and the vision of the world I carry within. When I translate, I set myself aside to welcome another author’s voice, with humility and precision. Poetry is creation; translation is service. But both are acts of love. Translation has taught me to strip away the ego, to embrace the world from a broader perspective. It has introduced me to different civilizations, languages, and sensibilities. It has opened doors to new spiritual and cultural horizons, making me feel like a free citizen of the world.

— Bringing together people of different nations, cultures, and religions through literature—do you see this as an artistic mission or a deep necessity of the soul?

— Yes, absolutely. Uniting cultures through literature is, for me, a deep necessity—it’s a mission that I feel is part of my very identity. We live in a time where fragmentation divides us, where identities are often used as walls rather than bridges. Literature has the power to heal this wound that threatens our future. When I promote writers from distant countries, when I translate a Korean poem from English into Albanian or an Arab poem into Italian, I feel I’m mending and stitching a torn fabric, saying: “We are different, but we can understand each other, and we can care for one another.” This is the aim of my work: to unite our shared humanity.

— On March 6, 2025, you participated in the “DivinaMente Donna” event as a jury member and as a member of the VerbumlandiArtAps Association, approved by the President of Italy. Can you tell us more about this prestigious event held at the Italian Senate?

— Being part of the “DivinaMente Donna” event, held on March 6, 2025, in the Zucchari Hall at the Italian Senate, organized by Dr. Regina Resta, President of the VerbumlandiArtAps Association, was one of the most significant moments of my personal and cultural journey. Participating not only as a guest but as a jury member and a member of the VerbumlandiArtAps Association, recognized and approved by the Senate itself, added even greater value to this commitment.

This event, born to celebrate female excellence in every field of knowledge and art, is a powerful symbol of institutional respect and recognition of women’s contributions to society’s growth. The fact that it took place in one of the highest seats of Italian democracy made the message even stronger: culture is a driver of peace, progress, and equality.

As a jury member, I had the task and privilege of evaluating women who, through their often silent but impactful commitment, have brought light to the fields of literature, art, science, and civil engagement. It was also a moment of exchange and sharing, not only among women from diverse backgrounds united by common ideals—freedom, dignity, dialogue—but also with many writers, journalists, and poets fighting for the defense of women’s rights.

My official presence, for which I thank Dr. Regina Resta, confirmed the importance of my work as a poet, translator, and international cultural promoter, strengthening my daily commitment to building intercultural bridges and defending the word as an instrument of peace.

In an era marked by divisions, “DivinaMente Donna” was a powerful voice celebrating human value, feminine sensitivity, and the strength of thought.

— What has been the greatest challenge or difficulty in your creative journey? Did it stop you, break you, or inspire you with new strength and vision?

—The greatest challenge has been loneliness. The loneliness of an immigrant, of a woman who chooses culture in an increasingly materialistic world. But also the loneliness of those who carry cultural battles without financial support, without established networks, relying only on their faith. However, this loneliness did not break me; on the contrary, it strengthened me. It taught me the value of silence, resilience, and daily work. Every obstacle was transformed into poetry, every disappointment into an act of generosity. Challenges became vision; wounds became wings.

— The title of Peace Messenger is not only an honor but also a great responsibility. In your opinion, how can poetry and literature serve peace in such a turbulent world?

— In a world full of wars, environmental crises, and technological loneliness, poetry is that inner voice that says, “You exist, you are not alone.” Literature is the memory of humanity, but it is also prophecy. It can anticipate changes, inspire peaceful revolutions, and heal. My commitment as a Peace Messenger comes from the conviction that the right word at the right moment can save a life. I do not exaggerate when I say this. Poetry can break down stereotypes, build invisible and infinite bridges to restore the dignity lost beneath the ruins of useless and unjust wars.

By promoting multilingual literature and fostering dialogue between cultures, I am working, in my small way, for a more just and humane world.

— You have succeeded in uniting creators from different cultures and nations. Where do you find the patience, love, and dedication necessary for this work? What inspires you internally?

— My source of energy is the universal love for every living being on this earth, for everything that breathes and radiates light: people, animals, and all that nature gives us in its splendor. My love for literature and promotion is not to seek applause but finds joy in the light of others. When I see an unknown poet moved because their inner voice has been heard for the first time in Albania or Italy thanks to one of my translations, there I find meaning and richness.

Patience comes from the deep faith I have in what I do. Dedication arises from a sense of gratitude for life and for the pen and words I have been given. Every face, every language I encounter enriches me. And I give back what I receive, multiplied by enthusiasm and the conviction that culture can still change the world.

— She has supported many writers, helping them not only to bring their works to the international stage but also offering them spiritual encouragement. What motivated her to take this path of dedication?

— I have experienced firsthand how hard it is to emerge. I know what it means to have no voice, no contacts, not knowing where to start, and facing closed doors and windows. This has made me sensitive to the talent of others. I chose to dedicate time, energy, and resources to help both emerging and established writers and poets because I believe in a culture of solidarity, not competition. The motivation is simple: if a word has value and can save, every writer deserves to be heard. I am just a tool, a bridge to give voice to these voices. Whenever I can open a door for someone, my path gains even more meaning.

— Several international publications have named you a Messenger of Peace. In a world so full of conflicts, sowing peace through words is no easy task. What responsibilities do you feel as a poet promoting friendship and peace among nations through literature?

— Carrying the title of “Messenger of Peace” is for me a daily commitment, not just symbolic but deeply ethical. In a world where words are often used to divide, offend, or manipulate, I have chosen to use them to unite, heal, and build bridges. It is not easy, because those who promote peace through literature often face indifference, superficiality, and those who see poetry as an unnecessary luxury. But I firmly believe that every verse written with truth can touch a heart, change a conscience, and awaken a silent voice. My responsibility is twofold: on one side, to be faithful to authentic words—those that do not lie or bend to power—and on the other, to continue creating international spaces where cultures dialogue and differences become wealth, not division. Every translated book, every promoted author, every curated magazine is a small seed planted in the fragile soil of coexistence. And as long as I can, I will never stop sowing.

— If you had to describe your life in a single poetic verse, what would it be?

— If I had to condense my entire life into one poetic verse, I would say:

“I passed by quietly versifying and left a trail of divine light where there was shadow.”

This verse encapsulates my journey: childhood lived between dreams and sacrifices, the separation from my homeland, the challenge of immigration, rebirth through writing, and the absolute dedication to culture as a form of healing and resilience both toward my illness and in general. From the silence of injustices and invisible wounds, I moved toward creativity—not out of vanity, but to share, inspire, and remind that even from pain can emerge inner and outer beauty. Every word left on the page is a small light, a trace, a gesture of love that endures through time.

— Although you have not yet visited Azerbaijan, what images or spirit of that land live in your heart? What does your soul imagine when it dreams of Azerbaijan?

— Although I have not yet had the honor to visit Azerbaijan, that land lives in my heart through its history, poetry, and people. I imagine Azerbaijan as a bridge between East and West, a place where ancient traditions and modern spirit intertwine like a harmonious dance. I hear the voice of its mugham music in the silences of the soul, see its carpets as metaphors of cultural interweaving, and feel the spirituality of its landscape as an invitation to contemplation. When I dream of Azerbaijan, my soul travels among its mountains and minarets, among the words of poets like Nizami Ganjavi and the creative energy of today’s young writers. My wish is that literature unites us, that one day I can bring my voice there, and at the same time let the voice of Azerbaijan resonate in the hearts of readers worldwide, meeting in person some poets I have translated and promoted-like my dear friend Tarana Turan Rahimli, who also thanks each of you personally.

BIOGRAPHY OF ANGELA KOSTA

Angela Kosta was born in Elbasan (Albania) and has lived in Italy since 1995. She is Executive Director by the magazine MIRIADE, translator, essayist, journalist, literary critic, publisher and promoter. She has published 25 books: novels, poems and fairy tales in Albanian, Italian, Arabic, French, Korean, Turkey, Spanish and English. The proceeds of his two books in Italy were donated to the non-profit association for research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and to the Association Daniele Chianelli for scientific research on Leukemia, Tumors and Lymphomas in children and adults. Her poetic volume translated by scholar and writer Hasan Nashid, approved by the Bangladeshi Ministry of Culture, will soon be published in Bengali.

Angela Kosta has received the Certification of Doctor Honoris Causa from various universities including: Colombia, Moldova, Yemen, Algeria, Romania, Mexico, and India and recently also from the University of Language and Literature in Morocco by Dean Muhammad Blik and Michael Hislop (Australia).
