<p>Sindh Health Department officials informed the Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Wednesday that there were problems in vaccination of students in private educational institutions.</p>
<p>Chief Secretary, who had convened the meeting to review overall situation with regard to vaccination drive and discuss other issues, directed the Secretary School Education to take strict action against institutions denying vaccination.</p>
<p>The meeting was attended by Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Secretary Health Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Secretary Schools Ghulam Akbar Leghari, Secretary Food Raja Khurram, Secretary Agriculture, Supply and Prices Pervez Ahmed Seehar while all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting via video link.</p>
<p>The meeting was briefed about the ongoing vaccination campaign against the corona virus, ongoing vaccination campaign in the educational institutions, price control and District Recruitment Committee (DRC).</p>
<p>Briefing the meeting about the coronavirus vaccination campaign, the Health Secretary said that so far 28.441 million people have received one dose of vaccination while 16.281 million people in the province have received both doses of the vaccine against the Corona virus.</p>
<p>The officials of School Education and College Education Department said that so far 1.118836 students have been vaccinated in educational institutions of Sindh out of which 680779 are in government schools and 259860 are in private schools and 178000 students in the colleges of the province.</p>
<p>Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah said that the door to door vaccination campaign launched by the Sindh government has helped in achieving the target and the figures show that so far 83% of the eligible population in the province has received one dose of the vaccination while 56% of the population had received 2 doses of the vaccination while over 600,000 people have received booster shots.</p>
<p>Regarding the control over the prices of essential commodities in the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to keep an eye on the prices of essential commodities including flour and take strict action against the profiteers. The food secretary said that the prices of flour in the province have been controlled and wheat had been provided to the mills according to the quota. Instructing the officials, the Chief Secretary said that the target of wheat procurement in Sindh should be completed and all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners should meet the Secretary Food and hold a meeting on Bardana.</p>
<p>Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah directed all the Deputy Commissioners to convene a meeting of the District Recruitment Committee and also directed the Services General Administration &amp; Coordination Department to issue the schedule of DRC. (PR)</p>

<h3>Two wards also established to observe side effects after vaccination; DC Hyderabad visits vaccination center</h3>
<p><strong>Hyderabad:</strong> Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro Tuesday visited the Divisional Covid-19 Vaccination Center at Jamshoro where the vaccination of frontline health workers of Hyderabad district against Coronavirus would be inaugurated on Wednesday February 3, 2021.</p>
<p>Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to perform their duties diligently so that the process of vaccination could be continued in a better manner. He further directed that special care must be taken for cleanliness at the center.</p>
<p>Deputy Commissioner paid a detailed visit to the center and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made for vaccination of front line health workers including doctors, paramedics, technicians etc.</p>
<p>Assistant Medical Superintendent, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liaquat_University_of_Medical_%26_Health_Sciences">Liaquat University of Medical and Health Science (LUMHS)</a> Dr. Shahid Junejo briefing the DC Hyderabad told that 19 counters have been set up in the center and waiting room has a seating capacity of 200 people with the vaccination capacity of 1900 people on a daily basis while two wards have also been established to inspect the side effects after vaccination.</p>
<p>He further informed that vaccination will be done under the Queue Management System and NADRA registration system and added that availability of ambulances equipped with necessary medical facilities has also been ensured.</p>
<p>DHO Hyderabad Dr. Muhammad Jumman, Focal Person Hyderabad Dr. Imdad Channa, Focal Person Divisional Vaccination Center Jamshoro Dr. Ghulam Qadir Dal, Focal Person District Jamshoro Dr. Niaz Babbar and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion. (PR)</p>
