Suhina Biswasmajumdar, a poet from Kolkata, West Bengal, shares her two fresh poems

A writer from Kolkata, Bengal and a life-long devotee of Swami Vivekananda, Suhina is against any discrimination. Two significant life-forces propel her – ‘love’ and ‘writing’. Suhina’s book ‘Tumi’ (you) and Songs of Silence (A Journey to Love), are collections of her poetic thoughts.

Detachment  

Some other day

Saw the shadows of their souls,

Suffered from the sorrow and their sins,

They tried to save the shivering sons of Adam,

Someone of them asked

“Detach from the cry of the crowd

Detach from the curse of the crown

Detach from the care of the cradle”

No one tried to listen then,

No one even tries to listen now,

No one will listen to them ever,

Only some distinct distortions whisper…

From then detachment reigns over the scary world

To breed the seed of crawling distress,

To split the heart from the hindering hands,

To connect with the flow that exists no more.

Is it distress?

What does restrict you

To hide your hunger…

Your tongue, emotions or ego

Or that vanity which you’ve got from your granny whom you follow?

Now they belong to you,

And you learn to move forward

From your hunger or desire

From your wish or will

From blank verse or dark satire,

Now

You learnt to move forward

To crush or fire your hunger

To feed or get rid of your anger

Or take rest…

Heaven may help you to get

The silvery silence

Of

The moon,

Coming soon,

Listen to

The voice of the gentle world

Once more reminder to share your word

Black or pink

Who cares … not even you…!

What’s your view?
