Lee won woo, an eminent poet from Korea, the Land of Morning Calm, shares his poem

 Poet Lee Won Woo is the president of the Songpa branch of the Korean Writers Association. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the literary magazine ‘Hangeul Literature’. He is the senior vice president of the Songpa branch of the Korean Federation of Artists.

The Flower That Blooms Within Me

The moment I looked at you for the first time,

Your name is stained in me

Embroidered with petals,

Your beautiful appearance.

I knew,

It’s my flower

Coming from a long way,

To make eye contact

On the lips and cheeks,

Rubbing and touching

On top of your petals,

I am reborn.

내 안에 피는 꽃

이원우

너를 처음 바라본 순간

네 이름 내 안에 물들었지

꽃잎으로 수놓은

네 고운 모습

알고 있었지

나의 꽃인 줄

머어-ㄴ 길에서부터 다가와

눈을 마주하며

입술과 볼에

문지르고 부비니

네 꽃잎 위에

다시 태어난다
