SMUGGLERS

What is common between

Love and crime?

A tragic end.

Is love a criminal activity?

Haven’t poets and sages

Held this passion aloft and declared it subliminal?

People tolerate bootleggers

And smugglers

Who rule this world

Not lovers

Who they allege,

Indulge in the trade of narcotics.

Society may or may not denounce

Its underworld dons

Corruption, deception,

Abductions, rapes, killings,

All illicit jobs

Except love

Are acceptable to this society

Those who indulged in the

Clandestine activity

Called love

Had to take shelter

In the darkness,

For the society is half-acceptant

And mostly resistant to the very idea.

I arraign Donne and Keats

And all those who declared

Love as a sacred passion.

Because history of humanity

Tells the tale

From the wrong end

Incriminating those who believe in love.

Those who love are criminals

Of this sane world

Who operate clandestine

And indulge in the smuggling

Of emotions and values  

Which the society

Does not consider healthy for a happy society.

PAIN

Pain is a dark sea

In which

Desires, hopes

And passions sail.

Life is a love

Which finding you

Depending on it

Forsakes you.

Pain cries through

Your bones

Though its lips

Remain sealed

There is only one way

To feel relief

Unload this pain

At undeserving shores.

There is no peace

For we don’t know

When life takes offence

And you lose your defence.

HOLY DOMAIN

I take care of my pain

Nurture it with soft touches  

And look at it

Again and again.

Preserve it

From all assaults of relief

Losing it can be

Such a grief

It is my prized property

The holy grain,

When fragrance takes flight

A flowers’ happy domain

Whenever I want happiness

I seek out pain

What a relief!

 Rohri Sindh

A team of Excise Police Rohri led by Excise Inspector Qamaruddin Sial recovered 60 kg of hashish from the vehicle and arrested three accused identified as Babar Khan, Asmatullah and Ali Ahmed on Tuesday.

Accused were trying to smuggle hashish to Karachi in Revo vehicle number KW-7711.

Excise Police Rohri also impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the accused and started investigation. (PR)

Karachi

Sindh Excise Police have foiled the attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs to Karachi and recovered 140 kilograms of hashish in two separate operations, arrested three accused and seized two vehicles used in smuggling.

In the first action, the excise team, led by Excise Inspector Qamaruddin Sial, while checking at the Rohri Excise Check Post, recovered 100 kg hashish. The hashish was recovered from Oil Tanker No.C-9176. The accused Sardar Akbar Afridi has been arrested and a case has been registered and investigations are underway. The tanker used in smuggling has also been impounded.

In the second operation, Excise Inspector Hassan Ali Dashti along with his team conducted the operation at Ubaro Excise Check Post on Sindh Punjab Border Kamboh Shaheed National Highway. Forty kilogram hashish was recovered from car number AMH-024 while two accused Ayaz Raza and Muhammad Younis have been arrested and a case has been registered against them. The accused are said to be residents of Kohat and Khyber Agency. Investigation is underway. (PR)
