Writing is one’s ability to express his or her thoughts and emotions. I write what I feel. Through this, I find myself satisfied. I always confide my ideas through words. I believe, through writing, I can deliberate the dilemmas of society.
August 2 is the day when my blogs started being published last year, and it is my first blog-versary today. It is time to review my one year’s journey, so that I may be able to contribute more effectively.
My first blog was titled “Our arms are wings to fly”, which was published on August 2, 2020, the second day of Eid-ul-Ad’ha last year, exactly one year before the day. This blog was based on the activities that I was engaged with during the first wave of COVID lockdown. This pandemic experience was first of its nature, in our lives. People were suffering from emotional isolation, loneliness and social disconnect, which put a huge negative impact on the mental and physical health of human beings all over the globe and was a great loss for human creativity. Some people used this quarantine period productively. They supported their individuality and utilized their quarantine time in healthy and fruitful activities. Some people started learning virtually and some utilized it in reading and surfing. I was one of the great learners during the first wave of Covid-19 and that learning has not yet ended and will never end. I explored new people, new experiences from different perspectives. I felt that I am connected with a new world. That was all gratification for me. So, my first write-up published was based on my creative quarantine experience, and that was published as a student’s lockdown diary.
Right on the next day of my debut blog, on August 3, 2020, my second blog was published, which was about Stephen William Hawking, an iconic theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author, who really inspired and influenced me, by his intellectual generosity, so I thought to dignify a very inspirational scientist. This great scientist was really out of this world, who discovered “Black hole”. Moreover, he encouraged us to be curious about the universe, discover and achieve. This blog revealed the life and outstanding achievements of Hawking. This write-up was titled “Hawking inspires youth to dream and to materialize those dreams.”
The 3rd blog, I authored was written and published on “International Youth day” which was August 12, 2020. This was titled “Youth must rise and revolutionize the Society”. Supporting the theme, I expressed that since the youth plays a very significant role in the development of society and they are the building blocks for the progress of the nation, so our youth should identify themselves with a sense of responsibility and earnestness.
My fourth blog was about the enormous topic that’s the day, when our country came into being, which was tiled as “Only progress deserves a celebration”, that was published on August 14, 2020. It addressed briefly the purpose of the formation of Pakistan and put a light on its progression till now, and showed my concern that, since we have achieved very little, and lost a lot, so we are not eligible to ‘celebrate’ this day.
My fifth blog was titled “Karl Marx, a revolutionist, humanist and a poet”, which was about the life and works of the great Karl Marx, who laid the foundation of capitalism and socialism. This blog was published on August 25, 2020.
My sixth step was a blog written and published on “World Tourism Day” on September 27, 2020, which was titled “The Indus heritage pleas to be preserved and revealed to the world”. This asserted the protection of our civilization and history, by preserving our historical archaeological sites. This also emphasized the inattentiveness of the institutions, as well as the individuals, towards the conservation of the tangible and intangible culture of the land.
“Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students” was my seventh blog, which was published on “World Teacher’s Day”, i.e. October 5, 2020, paying tribute to all the teachers of the world. This cited that teachers make us complete human beings, by transmitting their wisdom and bestowing our consciousness, to empower us to be unique.
My eighth blog was the last blog, published in 2020, that was written on “World Human Rights Day” published on December 10, 2020, which titled: “ The high time to stand up for the human rights.” This addressed the fundamental rights of an individual, given to him from his birth till the death, by the UN charter. It was also fleetingly conferred in the blog that how much percentage of those rights is really being assumed to the people on the planet.
My ninth blog was the very first blog of the New Year 2021, in which I wrote about the life and literary works of Prof Naila Gul “Sapna” Qazi, a poet, prose-writer, radio and stage host and an educator, titled “Sapna was not a dream”. This was published on January 27, 2021, on her second demise anniversary, and acknowledged her outstanding services and expressed deep heartache on her prompt departure.
My tenth blog was titled “The rose of the garden of letters”, which was a homage paid to Maqsood Gul, an eminent Sindhi poet, lyricist, scholar, educationist, translator and journalist, which was published on April 15, 2021, on his birth anniversary, revealing in detail about his services to the world of letters.
My eleventh blog was about ‘the William Shakespeare’, an outstanding English playwright and poet. Its title was marked as “Truth and beauty never bury.” It was published on April 23, 2021, which marked his death anniversary. In this blog, I tried to highlight the literary qualities of Shakespeare, which enabled him to be the National poet of English.
My twelfth blog was a homage paid to all the mothers of the world, especially to my illustrious mom on “Mother’s Day”. This was titled “the Light of my life”. This was obviously an emotional write-up, which acknowledged the role of a mother in everyone’s life. This was published on May 9, 2021.
So, on average, I’ve written one blog per month during the last 12 months, and holding myself accountable before me, I admit that I must improve this frequency as well as the quality of my writings.
I’m grateful to “Sindh Courier”, the esteemed news and media website to provide me space, where I’m able to share my thoughts with the world. I intend to continue this journey with more passion because this one year’s expedition is just a milestone in the voyage, not my destination; and for me, the direction is more important than velocity.
