The EBEDI REVIEW is a publication of the Ebedi International Writers Residency Program, has invited its contributors to be a part of our celebratory edition by submitting their best work in the following categories: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, book review, and essays.
In 2024, it would be 10 years since the first edition of the Review was launched at the USIS Center in Ibadan. Thus, editors are thrilled to announce the celebration of a decade of literary excellence with the 10th Anniversary of the EBEDI REVIEW. Over the past ten years, EBEDI REVIEW has been a steadfast platform for emerging and established writers to showcase their talent and creativity.
The EBEDI REVIEW is a publication of the Ebedi International Writers Residency Program, Iseyin, Oyo State Nigeria. The idea for the review was conceived by three Ebedi Fellows in 2014; comprising Paul Liam, Obinna Udenwe, and Karo Okokoh, as well as the former Administrative Manager of the Residency, Kofi Sakky.
The review debuted in 2014 and has since had four editions in print which have been circulated around the world by the Founder of the Ebedi Residency, Dr. Wale Okediran.
As editors mark this significant milestone, they invite contributors to be a part of our celebratory edition by submitting their best work in the following categories: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, book review, and essays. Submissions can be in Arabic, English or French. The EBEDI REVIEW@ 10 will be edited by Paul Liam and David Christopher
Submission Guidelines:
- Fiction: Send The EBEDI REVIEW your compelling short stories and flash fiction pieces. Whether it’s a tale of love, adventure, mystery, or any genre that ignites your imagination, we want to read it. Fiction submissions should be no longer than 3,000 words.
- Non-Fiction: Share your personal essays, memoirs, or thought-provoking articles on a wide range of topics. Non-fiction submissions should be no longer than 3,000 words.
- Poetry: The EBEDI REVIEW‘s editors are seeking your most evocative and impactful poems. Submit up to five poems of any length.
- Book Review: If you are passionate about books and can provide insightful and engaging reviews, this category is for you. Review a book you’ve recently read and share your thoughts. Book reviews should be no longer than 1,000 words.
- Essays: Explore critical issues, reflect on societal changes, or delve into personal experiences through thought-provoking essays. Essays should be no longer than 2,500 words.
Submission Instructions:
- Submissions can be in English or French
- Send your ENGLISH/ARABIC submissions as Word document to ebedireview@gmail.com and the FRENCH submissions to ebedi2024frenchsubmission@gmail.com with the subject line “Ebedi Review Submission – Your Name – Category.”
- Include your full name, email address, and a brief bio (50 words max).
- Submissions must be previously unpublished.
- Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Important Dates:
- Submission Deadline: 31st March 2024
- Publication of the 10th Anniversary Edition: June 2024

Contributors are entitled to a copy of the review.
