Motorbikes should be banned in Resham Gali Larkana

The street markets should be declared as pedestrian-only zones to create a safer and more enjoyable environment for shoppers and vendors.

Larkana, the divisional headquarter city of Sindh’s famous market place Resham Gali’s charm lies in its vibrant market atmosphere, yet the narrow street poses challenges for shoppers, mostly the women, due to motorbikes crowding the already limited space.

Imagine the problems faced by the shoppers while walking in this bustling marketplace, amidst roaring engines of bikes making way through the crowds without any restrictions.

I suggest the concerned authorities that the motorbikes should be banned in the Resham Gali and its adjoining streets, as the small streets make it uncomfortable for people to move in for shopping,

Banning motorbikes in these streets could revitalize the market experience and turn it into the pedestrian friendly zone, making it safer, more comfortable, and ultimately more attractive for visitors. This bold step would demonstrate a commitment to prioritizing the shoppers’ convenience and safety.

Providing education by launching awareness campaigns to inform bikers about the rules and etiquette of riding in street markets is also important.

In case of Resham Gali and such other street markets, parking areas should be allocated for bikers, who use to come for shopping. They should walk around the market instead of riding through it.

The street markets should be declared as pedestrian-only zones to create a safer and more enjoyable environment for shoppers and vendors.

The citizens should also cooperate with administration and work with local law enforcement and city officials to develop and implement strategies for managing bike riding in street markets.
