Passing On Life’s Torch

Looking at dragon fossils,

One may ponder their fate,

Why did they meet their end

And became part of history’s slate?

Perhaps they lacked love,

Or didn’t sacrifice enough,

And that’s why they are now,

Frozen in time, so tough.

But Emperor Penguins show,

That love and sacrifice go hand in hand,

For the brave the cold and snow,

To ensure their offspring’s stand.

From generation to generation,

They pass on life’s torch,

With great love and dedication,

Without a single porch.

Circular things hold secrets,

Of life’s fiery spark,

And round spaces create,

A flame that lights up the dark.

Seeds sacrifice themselves,

To ignite the flames of life,

And all-round things give,

Generously, without any strife.

Behold the Emperor Penguin,

A symbol of love and sacrifice,

For without their loving care,

They too would have become fossils.

Letter to the son

My dear son, today I write to you,

About a value that is tried and true.

Trust is the foundation of any bond,

Without it, relationships are just beyond.

There are those who pretend to be kind,

But their true intentions are hard to find.

And narcissists who use others for gain,

Their reputation eventually goes down the drain.

But those who keep trust and cooperation,

Will find people who reciprocate their dedication.

So don’t forsake trust for short-term gain,

Nurture warm relationships and let them sustain.

If you were stranded on a deserted shore,

Remember not to cause hurt anymore.

We’re all in this together, hand in hand,

So, repay the trust of those who understand.

May we all cherish the value of trust

And live our lives with honesty and just.

I wish for your health and happiness,

My dear son, with all my tenderness.
