Sindh Mental Health Authority (SMHA) Saturday honored a number of health professionals with appreciation certificates who assisted or took part in Psychological Autopsy of registered suicide cases in Tharparker conducted last year.
The certificate distribution ceremony was held at the SMHA head office in Karachi.
SMHA Consultants, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), University of Sindh, Sir Cowasji Jahangir Institute of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (SCJIP&BS), Edhi Foundation and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) had designed and developed research method, and conducted the autopsy from mid of April to end of May, 2021.
Senator Dr. Karim Khawaja distributed the certificates of Appreciation, Acknowledgment and Excellence among those who were in field work in the Psychological Autopsy of suicide cases. Those who received the certificates include Mr. Faisal Edhi, Chief Executive Officer, Edhi Foundation, Mr. Irshad Khokhar, Secretary SMHA, Prof. Dr. Iqbal Afridi, Ex-Head of Psychiatry department, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Prof. Haider Ali Naqvi, Head of Psychiatry Department, Dow University of Health Sciences, Dr. Chunni Lal, Head of Psychiatry department, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Mr. Riaz Hussain Baloch, Principal, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Law College Malir, Dr. Ajmal Mughal, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Nohrio, Pharmacist, Sir Cowasji Jahangir Institute of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Hyderabad and Mr. Rabdino Maghrio, University of Sindh and others.
