Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers Association and Employees Union as well as the Officers Union of the SALU Khairpur joined the protest rallies and staged sit in in front of the Administrative block of University against harassing the Teachers.

SALUTA President Prof. Dr. Ikhtiar Ghumro and others talking to reporters said that Administration of the Shah Abdul Latif University want to create unrest in University by sending not only male but also the  female Faculty members behind the Police Lockups.

He said that they had not attacked upon Prof: Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages and member Syndicate Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur. “SALUTA members only went to Dr. Mashori to hold talks and show the concern over decisions of syndicate like not considering the Professional teaching Experience of the appointed teachers as Teaching Assistants, but Prof. Mashori exaggerated and distorted the facts.”

He said that the Teaching Assistants are working since 5 to 14 years in the University against Low wages of 15 thousands which is against even the government-fixed minimum wages of Rs.25000. “We want their teaching experience should by justified during the recruitment of the Vacant Posts of the Faculty members.”

Prof. Mashori was urged that Sindh University and Karachi University were entertaining the teaching experience of the Teaching Assistants, but Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur does not consider it which is unfair. “Shah Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur in its previous selection boards had also considered this experience,” Ghumro said.

He said that unpleasant situation developed when Dr. Mashori used abusive words and shouted over the concerning questions raised by SALUTA members.
