Huh, Yoon Jung

Huh Yoon Jun- Korea- Poetess- Sindh CourierHuh Yoon Jung is an eminent poetess recommended by the literary magazine ‘Hyundae Munhak’ (1977-1980). She served as a director of the Korean branch of PEN International and a planning committee member of the Korean Poets Association. She was also a member of the South-North Korean Writers Association. Her poetry collections include ‘A Cup Where Light Gathers’ and many others. She published an English poetry collection titled ‘Some Where in the Sky’. She participated in the Paris Grand Palais art exhibition commemorating the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. She has received numerous awards, including the 1st Baekja Arts Award, the 1st Sahmyookdan Literature Award, and the 2016 PEN International Literary Award.

The 13th Day

Torn by a razor blade,

A searchlight.

 

The sun wore a peaked cap.

A murdered piano.

 

Blood stains,

Dancing over sheet music.

 

The turning point

Is a thorny intersection.

 

An incendiary paper sets off the siren.

The camera’s storytelling.

 

The montage is laughing.

서치라이트

태양이 고깔모자를 썼다

살해된 피아노

 

핏자국

춤을 추는 악보다

 

터닝포인트는

가시 돋친 건널목

 

인화지가 사이렌을 울린다

카메라의 스토리텔링

몽타주가 웃고 있다

The Tip of My Toes

The storm with the broken leash.

 

A torn waterfall,

The wind gets wet.

 

Peeling off the facade,

The empty air is worn out.

발끝

줄이 끊어진

폭풍

 

찢어진 폭포

바람이 젖는다

 

허물을 벗는

허공은 낡았
