250 Thari girls complete 4-month Skill Development Training

Training of another batch of 950, including 900 females is underway; training courses have been arranged by Sindh Development Organization in collaboration with Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program.

Some 250 girls of desert district Tharparkar have completed 4-month training in different skills like sewing, beautician, web designing and early child education etc.

This is first time that such courses were arranged for the Thari girls by Sindh Development Organization (SDO) in collaboration with Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP).

All the girls, who had successfully completed the training courses, were given certificates at a ceremony here on Thursday. Additional Deputy Commissioner-1 Tharparkar Ms. Sara Javed distributed the certificates.

Assistant Commissioner Nagarparkar Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Mithi Abdul Hameed Mughal, CMO Mithi Saeed Ahmed Brohi, District Officer BBSYDP Ghulam Murtaza Rathor, Muneer Buriro, CEO, SDO, and others were present.

Mithi-Girls-Skill-Training-Sindh-Courier-1Addressing the recipients of the certificates, Ms. Sara Javed hoped that the Thari women would avail this training opportunity so that they could become self-dependent and also can play role in development of the society.

“These females can earn livelihood by working at their own home, and financially support their families” she added.

According to Muneer Buriro, currently, the training of another batch is underway with enrollment of 950 including 900 female and 50 males. “This time the duration of courses has been increased. Some of the courses are of 6-month and others are of one-year duration,” he told.

He said the enrollment would be gradually increased to four thousands of which 2000 would be female, so that maximum number of women of desert district could be able to earn the livelihood on their own by learning different skills.
