U.S. Consul General meets Sindh Chief Secretary

Academic ties between Pakistani and US universities especially in IT sector were discussed in the meeting.

Karachi

Consul General of United States in Karachi Mr. Mark Stroh held a meeting with Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput at Sindh Secretariat on Thursday and discussed various matters of bilateral cooperation and mutual interest.

The US Consul General was accompanied by Political and Economic Chief Alexandra Zetel and others.

Chief-Secretary-US-Consul-General-Sindh-CourierDuring the meeting, Chief Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput briefed the US delegation about various sectors including education, health, and trade, economic and social developments in Sindh.

The US delegation admired the steps taken in the field of Health in Sindh particularly the Gambit Institute of Health Sciences and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).

The US envoy pledged to extend support for the welfare of people of Sindh. US Consul General Mark Stroh said he would invite the US Investors for investing in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Sindh.

Chief-Secretary-US-Consul-General-Sindh-Courier-2Chief Secretary Sindh and US Consul General Mark Stroh also expressed their interest in enhancing academic ties between Pakistani and US universities especially in the Information Technology sector.

Development of Karachi and other issues were also discussed. Chief Secretary presented Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to the US envoys. (PR)
