A social worker, Partab Mukhi, has mobilized resources from local philanthropists of Tharparkar to provide food and water for birds at Mithi.

As the first phase of the initiative, 14 metal stands fitted with clay pots have been installed at various temples, shrines and graveyards across Mithi. The initiative aims to ensure that birds have access to drinking water and grains, particularly during harsh weather conditions.

Protecting these interconnected ecosystems is therefore not merely an act of kindness but also a responsibility towards sustaining life and maintaining ecological balance.

Mukhi said the initiative would require continued participation from the local community. Residents and visitors are being encouraged to refill the clay pots with clean water and provide feed on a daily basis, so that the facilities remain functional throughout the year, including during the monsoon and other difficult seasons.
