5th Edition of Eurasian Literary Festival to be held in Turkey

Several awards will be presented at the Festival, which aims to promote creativity and friendship between writers and readers in Eurasia and create a unified Eurasian literary space.

With the support of the Association of Eurasian Peoples, the Eurasian Literature Festival (LiFFt) is organizing its fifth edition, which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on November 11-14, 2021.

Several awards will be presented at the LiFFT Festival, which aims to promote creativity and friendship between writers and readers in Eurasia and create a unified Eurasian literary space.

Istanbul-Eurasian-Literary-Festival-Sindh-Courier-1The closing ceremony of the festival, in which 170 poets from 69 countries are participating in the online selection rounds, will be held in Istanbul with the participation of Turkey, Azerbaijan, America, Russia, Belgium, Austria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt and other countries due to the pandemic that has negatively affected the world.

The voices of world poets and prose writers from 69 countries will be shown on the stage and screen of the Istanbul Cultural Center “Yapi Kredi” in Taksim and will be broadcast on the LIFFT channel on YouTube and LIFFT social networks.

Margarita Al, Director of the International Literary Movement LIFFT will open the festival. The theme of festival is “We are the people of the same planet.”

LIFFT-2019 festival cycle was held in Azerbaijan with the participation of writers from 52 countries around the world, in honor of the Turkish poet and winner of the Tuğrul Tanyol Prize; The LIFFT-2021 cycle presents awards to the honorees with the announcement of the country in which the festival will take place in 2022; and the “President of World Literature” Award, Organizers: LIFFT Foundation, Literature Council of the Eurasian People’s Assembly, and Turkish Association of Literary and Scientific Works)

The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian People’s Assembly Svetlana Konstantinovna Smirnova, Azerbaijani folk writer Anar Resologlu, Kazakh people’s writer Ulzas Umaroglu Selimnov, and Russian folk poet Konstantin Kedrov-Chilechov are scheduled to attend the festival as guests of honor.  The festival committee also invited Turkish writers, readers, journalists, publishers and artists to actively participate in the “LiFFT-2021” Eurasian Literature Festival.

The programs include a Press conference, opening ceremony, an art exhibition entitled “The Book of the Poet and the Artist”; launching of book “Kitab Istanbul” written by international writers and artists from Istanbul; The Curator of the “Book of the Poet and the Artist” project in Istanbul is Artist Aygul Okutan.

Istanbul-LIFFT-Sindh-CourierA poetry reading sitting under the theme “We are human beings from the same planet” will also be held. On November 12, the International Literary Forum “Istanbul 2021” will be held with the participation of writers from 69 countries.

Interview will be conducted with Margarita Al, director of the publishing house “Lift” and editor-in-chief of the literary magazine “Lift”. Publishers and literary editors are invited to the meeting.

The meeting with the winners of the Eurasian Literary Festival of 2016-2017-2018-2019 will be held on November 12 in Yapı Kredi Cultural Center.

The program also include a round table meeting on “The Image of the Future Man in World Literature”, where 10 speakers from different countries of the world will start a dialogue on the eve of the Forum on World Literature and Future Science “LIFT-2022”.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elyssam Group Mehmet Nuriparmak (Turkey) will give a presentation entitled The Status of Turkish Literature in World Literature and the Speeches of Seyed Ahmet Arslan, Deputy Director General of Cultural Heritage and Museums, on Turkish civilization, literature and arts.

November 13 is set for closing of the festival. Guests and participants of the LIFT Festival will be invited to the red carpet for a photo shoot. Ceremony will be held for honoring the winner of the “LIFFT-2021” award for the Sixth Eurasian Literature Festival and the country will be announced in which the festival will be held in 2022. (PR)
