Sindh Agriculture University has decided to set up a Finishing School and Career Counseling Center to enhance the merit and personality of the graduating students. It also plans to establish a new institution in Karachi.

In view of the low participation of candidates from Sindh in competitive examinations of Federal Public Service Commission, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam has decided to set up a Finishing School and Career Counseling Center to enhance the merit and personality of the graduating students.

It has also proposed to establish a new institution in Karachi, besides launching several new academic programs, including BS English, BS Rural Studies, and Agricultural Economics.

Addressing a reception hosted on Friday on the appointment of Dr. Aijaz Ali Khoharo as Dean in the Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences of Sindh Agriculture University, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri said that by establishing institutions like Professional Development Center, Career Counseling Center, the university will enable its graduates to appear for examinations in PCS, CSS, and Management Courses. “After graduation they will be given training for capacity building from the finishing school, and in this regard new programs will be started in Sindh Agriculture University.”

He said that the participation ratio of Sindh candidates in the competitive examinations of the Federal Public Service Commission is low. “Some 86 posts are still vacant in the federal institutions under the Sindh quota for youth, women, and minorities. Therefore, Finishing Schools, Career Counseling, and Professional Development Centers are being set up to prepare students from all walks of life,” he told.

Dr. Aijaz Ali Khoharo, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, said that various career opportunities in different departments would be available to the university graduates with the introduction of new departments and courses at Sindh Agriculture University.

Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Dr. Ghulam Mujtaba Khushk, Muhammad Ameen Soomro, Ms. Mumtaz Bano Bhatti and others also addressed. (PR)
