Ali Akbar Hingorjo, a broadcaster and a PhD scholar of Media and Communication Studies Department of Sindh University, has been inducted in the group of selected researchers investigating environmental changes by the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

The group was formed in collaboration with the British Council to share ideas and initiate joint research projects among researchers investigating environmental changes. The group is named as the Commonwealth Future Climate Research Cohort.

It should be noted that Ali Akbar Hingorjo has been doing research work along with preparing radio programs about environmental issues and writing in print media for the past two decades. His research papers on environmental journalism have been published in local and foreign research journals.

He is currently working on a thesis on the role of digital media in raising awareness about environmental changes as a PhD scholar of Media and Communication Studies of Sindh University.

He has been included in the Commonwealth Future Climate Research Cohort in recognition of his research work on climate change.

Researchers in the program will have access to online training on the latest research principles and support from experts in relevant fields for research projects, as well as access to research resources on climate change worldwide.

The program aims to address climate change related issues such as flooding, impacts on coastal areas, increasing the resilience of urban areas to climate change, water scarcity in a changing world, climate change legislation  and social exclusion.

It aims to create awareness about environmental changes and promote globally actionable research on the role of digital media and other topics.
