More workshops on different social issues would be organized for capacity building of students

The Consultative Workshop on “Right to Information, Local Government Amended Act and the Role of Office of Sindh Ombudsman” held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur by the Civil Society Support Program (CSSP) concluded on Tuesday.
Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the session while Zafar Abbas Abbasi, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, Khairpur was the chief guest. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Noor Muhammad Bajeer, Chief Executive Officer, CSSP were the guests of honor.
Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that the university has provided a dynamic platform to youth to play their due role in the society. He said that the first ever Students’ Societies’ Centre has been established at this University which is working effectively for grooming and capacity building of the students.
Zafar Abbas Abbasi, who is alumnus of this university, said that the training was extensively better and comprehensive, and the students have learnt a lot about the theme of the consultative sessions. “The students were apprised about the role and responsibilities of Local Government Department,” he said.
Noor Muhammad Bajeer shed light on the working of CSSP which aims to build the capacity of youth in different fields. He said that more than 37 students’ societies are working at the university. He said his organization has trained 10000 youth and provided vocational trainings to empower them. “The different programs of employment schemes have been launched by the CSSP. Moreover, we are working on renewable energy projects,” he said.
Muhammad Ibrahim from Local Government and Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari and Samiullah Mahar, Grants Manager CSSP also shared views. It was announced that more workshops on different social issues would also be organized for capacity building of students.
Ali Raza Lashari, In-charge Students Societies Centre conducted the proceedings of the session. At the end, the shields and certificates were distributed among the guests and participants. A large number of teachers and students attended the session.
