Drowning hope

A weighty despair, when your love no longer cares

Conversation and daily talk,

Cut short by a single walk.

When relationships are shattered Words spoken so decisively,

When all commitments and promises,

Are left behind, like crumpled roses.

When dreams and myths, once held so dear,

Are lost, and nothing left to revere all about her, now lost in the fray,

And there’s nothing left to do or say.

All worries and apologies, falling on deaf ears,

As the distance between you both grows with each passing year.

When healing and remembrance are out of reach,

Left alone on a forsaken beach.

Drowning hope, a heavy burden to bear,

As you realize the love you once shared,

Is Lost

Nothing, except a shattered heart.
