Marine Costume – Poetry from Vietnam
Nguyen Dinh Tam, a poet from the land of Blue Dragon shares his five poems.

I put my soul on the sunsets
Look into the deep, distant, call you
In the salty taste of the sea there are human blood dripping
There are sweat slave away human destiny!
Marine Costume
The sea of thousands of life in a blue costume
Deep blue, to aspire extend endlessly
Top of wind bounce the waves
The sails have been shown
I put my soul on the sunsets
Look into the deep, distant, call you
In the salty taste of the sea there are human blood dripping
There are sweat slave away human destiny
Line of verse light not soul to have fun
Became the foam was washed up on the sand bank
I keep in immense
Boundless in love song

Recite, Sing a Song
Santiago old man loved the sea like he loved a woman
I love both Hemingway and “The Old Man and the Sea”
I’m like a bird that is very real ambiguity
With absorbed that very blue open sea
I feel like a little sail
Longing towards the illusory horizon
On returning, hair was thunderstorm color
Recite sing a song to set a poem to music
***
Heartache
Heartache opened my soul
A sweet sound you “yes”
They are a couple of fish stayed to change to Hon Ngu
You white stork
I am albatross
Flap the wings
Gather because of each other but separate for each other
***
The Pebble
Pebbles lying inert on the sand bank
Flowers sea spinach surrounded it
I just smiled
Pick up one, bring it press the paper
The letters lay still hear the waves effusive
***
Autumn Imprint
Sinner step on the leaf’s sadness
Through the cruel autumn my childhood
One day honor autumn imprint, atone
Dead leaves, filled with my soul.
