The Jamshoro Police on Monday arrested one Juma Khan Mahar and recovered Pistol used in the murder a female school teacher Naureen Fatima Mahar.

SSP Jamshoro Dr. Farrukh Raza Malik while talking to the media said that Police also got four days remand of the murder accused Mohsin Mahar who confessed his crime.

SSP said that he is personally supervising the case and Investigation Officer Ayaz Jaddan is investigating the case. “Jumma Khan, uncle of the Naureen was also taken into custody because his pistol was used in murder of Naureen Fatima,” he said.

SSP said that investigation has revealed that mother of Naureen Fatima Mahar had attended the Nikah of her daughter with Mansoor four years ago and brother and father of Naureen had forced her to get divorce from a Manssor.

He said that Naureen shared all happenings with Mansoor through mobile phone.

Meanwhile, ASP Sehwan Baidar Bakht said that young female teacher Naureen Fatima Mahar was shot dead by her parents while her parents twisted it as a suicide.

He said that after the initial investigation, it has been concluded that Naureen did not commit suicide, but was killed.

The bullet-riddled body of Naureen Fatima, who married to Mansoor Soomro of her choice was recovered from her house in the village Gulsher Mahar near Bhan Saeedabad on Wednesday last and the family members declared the incident as suicide.

During the initial investigation, the mother of the Naureen Fatima in her statement told the police that her daughter did not commit suicide.

ASP said that Mohsin Mahar, brother of Naureen, who is an ASI in CTD Police, was taken in to custody, and said that the initial post-mortem report of the bullet wound on the Naureen Fatima, was examined by the medical experts who opined that the case has not been proven to be suicide.

He said that its known from the chat with the woman’s husband that Naureen has been killed.

He said that a case has been filed against two people Mohsin, the brother of the deceased female teacher and her Father Muhammad Ali Mahar.

He said that arrested Mohsin during investigation confessed his crime and on his discloser another accused involved in the murder, Juma Khan Mahar, the uncle of Naureen Fatima has been arrested and recovered the pistol used in the murder.

ASP said that Mansoor Soomro said in his statement that Naureen Fatima Mahar d/o Muhammad Ali Mahar had met him in Sindh University Jamshoro and they married in 2021 in Karachi. Naureen told him that the marriage should be kept secret until the parents agree.

Mansoor further told that when the parents wanted to get Naureen marry, she told them about the marriage and presented Nikah Nama to the parents but they pressurized her to get divorce, which she refused.

Meanwhile the alleged Killer on Monday was brought to court in Sehwan by the Police to seek remand, where he told that police tortured him, rejected his confession and pleaded not guilty. He alleged that his sister committed suicide owing to blackmailing of Mansoor Soomro.

Court remanded him for four-day police custody and ordered for medical checkup of the accused.
