Kweon Hyeokjai Korea poet Sindh CourierPoet Kweon, Hyeokjai, born in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, currently lives in Pyeongtaek, and is serving as the head of the Pyeongtaek branch of the Gyeonggi Minyechong (Folk Arts Federation), where he monitors and plans cultural arts projects.

Starting with the first poetry collection ‘The Invisible Man’,   published in 2009, so far 9 volumes of poetry have been published, of which ‘Shedding Glasses’ was selected as a Sejong Excellent Book, and ‘Couldn’t Reach You’ selected as an Arko Literature Sharing Book.

Shade

Being someone’s shade,

It means erasing my color.

I never once had my own color,

And became only someone else’s background color

Holding in silence

In the long and short shaking

In the high and low fluttering,

Colored with one light

The color that becomes someone’s background

The shadow of oblivion that must be erased for the rest of my life

Time fades and changes

The warmth of life and death

The deep silence of the shadows,

Falling at the same time

Being someone’s shadow,

It is a mixture of life and death.

누군가의 그늘이 된다는 것은

나의 색깔을 지우는 것이다

번도 빛깔을 갖지 못하고

누군가의 바탕 색깔만 되어

침묵으로 누르고 있다

길고 짧은 흔들림에

높고 낮은 출렁거림에,

빛으로 물들어가며

누군가의 배경이 되는

평생 지워야 망각의 그림자도

시간을 탈색하며 변해간다

삶과 죽음의 온기가

동시에 빠져 내려가는

그늘의 짙은 고요

누군가의 그늘이 된다는 것은

삶과 죽음을 섞어주는 일이다.
