Online classes will continue for two weeks; form submission date for admission in postgraduate programs extended till Aug 10

Tandojam: Due to current situation of COVID-19 in the country, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam has decided to conduct regular classes of first year students through online mode for two weeks.

In this regard, University and its affiliated colleges and sub-campuses launched online training for first year students. The experts and staff of the Information Technology Center imparted training to the students on how to take online classes and how to use the software at a workshop.

Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri, Vice Chancellor, Sindh Agriculture University, visited the training workshop on Friday where the IT team briefed the Vice Chancellor about the monitoring of the online system.

In an online conversation with the students, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri said that due to COVID 19, there are difficulties in the teaching and research process across the country, and in such a situation the online classes have great importance but the system needs to be made more efficient to save students valuable time.

He urged the IT team to save the lectures of the teachers through software, so that the students could listen and understand the lectures online at any time in case of need and timely access to the Internet. “Students should also take full advantage of online classes during the pandemic situation.”

Dr. Abdullah Arijo, academic Adviser to the Vice Chancellor and Dr. Mukhtiar Memon, IT In-charge of Online Classes were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Sindh Agriculture University extended the date for submission of forms for admissions in postgraduate degree program due to Covid-19.

According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of Sindh Agriculture University, the date of submission of forms has been extended keeping in view the instructions of Sindh government and the current Covid-19 situation.

Forms for admission in M.Sc., ME, MSIT, M.Phil. Ph.D. in all faculties for postgraduate degree program can now be submitted till August 10, 2021 as per the schedule issued by the Director Advanced Studies. The entry test, which was scheduled for August 10, has been canceled and admission will now be based on the candidates’ academic performance. (PR)
