Skill Development Program launched for Thari Youth

Some of the girls have started earning after basic training in dress making and computer applications.

Thar Education Alliance Vocational and Technical Training Center Mithi has started skill development training for 50 youth of Tharparkar at Mithi, the district headquarter town of Tharparkar.

The training, sponsored by the support of Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Program (NAVTTC), is aimed to develop skills and channelize the capabilities of youth in different mainstream industries.

Thari youth is being offered different courses including Dress Making, Fashion Designing and Computer Application Graphic Designing.

According to the press release of Thar Education Alliance, the purpose of this these courses is to make the able youth start their own career in different sectors in Tharparkar. The dress making and fashion designing course would help females to start their own business at their home.

Miss. Saira, a trainee said that when she joined this course she had just knowledge about different types of thread, machines and cloth but now she is able to sew clothes at her house and earn 10000 to 15000 monthly.

Another trainee Mehtab said that the training has provided an opportunity to learn computer application and graphic designing course. She started her self-earning by designing different banners and video messages in local body election and earned 20000 in just one month. Before this course she was completely unaware of the computer and its use. Such opportunities boost up the capacity of youth to select a good career. (PR)
