Are we better than our forefathers? I am of the firm opinion that apart from some modern inventions, technology and comforts, our forefathers had a good life style and they lived a simple life with peace of mind. They very much believed in maintaining the relations and respecting the values and promoted brotherhood and tolerance.

In his life the biggest satisfaction one needs is peace of mind, self-satisfaction and survival without facing much trouble.

Today, in the era of materialism, where we all are busy digging the treasures of wealth, thinking about it, talking about it and engaged in accumulation of wealth all 24 hours.

No doubt we have technology today but our minds are more in tensions than that of our ancestors. They had little to eat, wear and to show off but in fact, they were real. On the contrary, we the dwellers of so called modern world are firm followers of ostentation. We are fake, hypocrites and self-centered with no care for any relation. We follow our vested interests in everything. The thing that pleases us the most is monetary benefit. We pass an emotionless and robotic life. The ultimate universal goal is missing from our colorless lives. We are in the race indeed, in mess.

All the boundaries and limits have been crossed in the love and lust of materialism.

I am of the firm opinion that apart from some modern inventions, technology and comforts, our forefathers had a good life style and they lived a simple life with peace of mind. They very much believed in maintaining the relations and respecting the values and promoted brotherhood and tolerance. These were the qualities of our forefathers, which are lacking. We cannot deny the importance of modern technology, but at least must strive for restoring and developing the spirit of love, respect, brotherhood and tolerance in the society, which ultimately would bring peace and tranquility and we would have a soulful life.
