Digital Census in Dadu District: 792 Enumerators, 3200 police personnel deployed

1366 blocks have been established of which Dadu Taluka has 386 blocks, Johi 271, KN Shah 300 and Mehar has 409 blocks. Each block consists 200 to 250 houses.

As the process of 7th census through digital system is starting in Pakistan from March 1, the district administration has established census support center in Deputy Commissioner Office in Dadu.

The new digital census would continue till first April for head counting and houses.

Speaking to Sindh Courier, District Census Officer Muhammad Nawaz Panhwer said that after 5 years census work would start through tablet-based digital system.

Digital Census-DaduHe said that government of Pakistan had conducted census process in July 2022 on trial base in some area of country which was a success and now government has taken decision of digital census across the country.

District Census Officer said that in Dadu district 1366 blocks have been established of which Dadu Taluka has 386 blocks, Johi has 271, KN Shah 300 and Mehar has 409 blocks. Each block consists 200 to 250 houses.

He said that 792 teachers/ enumerators have been deployed on duties that will start work from first March. One police constable would accompany the enumerator during census duty as per security plan. He said that transport facility would be provided to census team from their areas till last day of census.

Muhammad Nawaz said that in Dadu district as per 2017 census, the population of Dadu was 1550266 and now it would be count through digital system.

Meanwhile, SSP Dr. Abdul Khalique Pirzado said that 3200 police personnel’s deployment was would be made which include 8 DSPs, 40 SHOs, 34 police mobile vans. SSP said that 100 ranger’s soldiers and other law enforcement forces are stand by to look after in case of any kind of untoward incident.

While, Police sources told that due to tribal clashes in Kacha area of Dadu, Johi, Mehar and KN Shah are declared sensitive and Patt Sharif, Nandhi Seta and Mehar Kacha area were declared most sensitive for law and order situation.
