We Sindhis want to showcase our culture to whole Country and World – The Hind got its name from Sindh. Sindhu, the Mother River and Sindhi people are known for their rich Vedic Culture, most sweet language and prosperous life style

New Delhi: Sindhis of India have approached the government to allow the Sindhi Community taking part with floats, tableaux and troupes and present their culture in Independence Day and Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi.

Such demand has been made in a letter addressed to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, written by All Sindhi Hope Association ASHA some time back.

“The Hind got its name from Sindh. Sindhu, the Mother River and Sindhi people are known for their rich Vedic Culture, most sweet language, prosperous life style and national loyal. Today we are requesting for to present our culture in Independence Day and Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi,” the ASHA letter contended.

“We demand for Floats, tableaux and troupes of Sindhi Community to participate and present our culture in Independence Day and Republic Day parade at Rajpath, New Delhi,” Mr. Pawan Gopichand Walecha, wrote in the letter on behalf of ASHA and Sindhi communities.

“Through the decades, these Floats/ Tableaux/Troupes have depicted varied themes like the rich cultural heritage of States existing in India Post Independence and socio‐economic development along with the nation’s progress in various sectors.”

“We Sindhis also want to showcase our culture to whole Country and World. We want to make Indians realize what India had lost in partition and how we Sindhi’s are nurtured in this India. We also want to contribute in National Cultural Festivals,” Mr. Walecha maintained.

He requested that the Home Minister and Cultural Affairs minister shall review this request and shall make it implement in coming parade. This would really be a great gift from Government of India to the society. This will work as lubricant to machinery for protecting and developing our Culture and Language for future, he said stated in the letter.

“Till date we are only Viewers but now we request to be participant,” he said adding, “We know there are many hurdles in making it possible, but difficult tasks are accepted only from true strong and courageous government…The Modi Government”.

The copies of letter had also been sent to Shri. Ram Nath Kovindji, President of India and Shri. Rajnath Singh, Home Minister of India.
