The Dusk – Poetry from Bengal

He looks at the broken locks

That tells him closed-door stories

The solitary evening swallows his past

The man buries his memories.

The Dusk

He sits beneath the lonely tree

Beside the maiden stone

Tired door hesitates to open

The earth worm walks alone

That is a clumsy evening

He comes to sense his days

He feels his roar from broken balcony

The sun showers golden rays

He looks at the broken locks

That tells him closed-door stories

The solitary evening swallows his past

The man buries his memories.

Leaving Behind

They walk and talk

They smile and dance and shine

Roaring waves are calling

While crawling if

Friendly shore is waiting

If they come

If they whisper once more

If they embrace and hide

If the waves kiss the sky

If they dive to die

If they shout once more

If they wish to cry

The shore is waiting for them

Those who come and cling

The waves wash their foot prints

Who once walk and sing.

Friendship

Dark nights of soul searching or the scorching heats of fate

Just illuminate — the way ahead,

If you have courage to embrace while

Enlighten yours…

Friends …who remain fearless in front of mercy after death.
