English book ‘Salient Message of Sufism’ launched

English book titled ‘Salient Message of Sufism’ authored by Syed Ghulam Hyder Shah Qalandari, an eminent writer hailing from Sufi school of thought, was launched here Sunday at the Senate Hall of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tando Jam.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor, SAU, said that the books are still considered as one of the best and easiest ways to transfer knowledge in the world. “No doubt the book is still a true friend of human,” he said.

Vice Chancellor said that there was a time when Muslim scientists and intellectuals in the subcontinent, including Sindh, were engaged in serving the people and they were of great importance, but now west has come to dominate our society and system.

Dr. Marri told that students of Sindh Agriculture University are also being provided opportunity through various societies to highlight their potential through healthy activities.

Author Syed Ghulam Hyder Shah Qalandari, who is Leader of Anjuman Ghulam-e-Qalandar Welfare Sindh, said that Sufism teaches the eternal lesson of service and love to others without any discrimination. “Our organization is preaching Durood-e-Sharif among the youth in the educational institutions of Sindh.”

Well known writer and agriculture expert Prof. Muhammad Mithal Jiskani said that under the leadership of Syed Ghulam Hyder Shah Qalandari there is a large circle of Aashiqan-e-Rasool (Lovers of Prophet) in Sindh. He said that the publication of Sufi literary articles in English has proved that Sufism is knocking the door of international thought.

Adam Solangi, Syed Mehboob Shah and others spoke on the occasion, while Syed Abdul Rehman Shah, Sher Khan Panhwar, Laiq Burfat, Rajab Burfat, Rafique Ahmed Kakeputo, Gul Sher Lochi, Chanesar Burfat, Fayaz Nahiyon, Ghulam Nabi Unar, Nazir Ahmad Naiyon, Dr. Imtiaz Panhwar, teachers, students of University participated.

Earlier, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri, Syed Ghulam Hyder Shah Qalandari and Mithal Jiskani unveiled the book. (PR)
