
Terrorists had blown themselves up during a police operation in Ubauro town of Ghotki district of Sindh on Sunday.
They were identified as Imamuddin son of Ubaidullal Pitafi, the student of a seminary – Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Khairpur Sindh, and Abdul Hameed son of Abdul Majeed, who was from Malaysia but his current residential address was mentioned as Zahir Pir Rahimyar Khan Punjab.

The police have constituted different teams for busting the terrorists’ network in the district following the recovery of international visa, Computerized National Identity Cards and the identity cards of a religious organization from two terrorists who blew themselves up during a police operation in Ubauro town of Ghotki district of Sindh on Sunday.

The terrorists were identified as Imamuddin son of Ubaidullal Pitafi, the student of a seminary – Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Khairpur Sindh, and Abdul Hameed son of Abdul Majeed, who was from Malaysia but his current residential address was mentioned as Zahir Pir Rahimyar Khan Punjab.
The Counter Terrorism Department and the police have registered three cases under different Sections of law against the terrorists including police encounter and illegal arms.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sukkur in a press conference in Ubauro on Sunday said that both terrorists committed suicide by blowing themselves up using a locally-made bomb after being surrounded by the police officials. DIG Sukkur said that the terrorists placed the bomb between them after coming closer to each other.
DIG Sukkur said that the terrorists tried to flee from the site after being surrounded by the police team and attacked the cops with locally-made bombs. He added that after failing to escape, they blew themselves up using a bomb.
A police party was on snap checking at Langho Road of Ubauro town when they spotted two suspected bike-riders, who opened fires on police as they were ordered to stop for checking.
The terrorist tried to escape through narrow streets however police chased them. The exchange of fires however continued from both sides. When the terrorists found them out of ammunition stock, they threw a locally-made hand grenade on police which they missed. The second hand grenade two fell away from the police. Finding no way to escape, the terrorists blew themselves up with the explosives.
SSP Ghotki Azhar Mughal and a big contingent of police had rushed to the place of encounter along with bomb disposal squad who searched the area.
The incident created panic among the citizens.
