A PRAYER IN TIMES OF WAR

World is standing

On the thin dividing line

Between wisdom and folly.

The store of wisdom

Is greater

Than the bulging store of folly

If we can avoid third world war

It will mean history

Has taught us a grave lesson.

Fighting must stop

Let wisdom prevail…

Let no more humanity bleed

Whose soldiers are being killed

And whose cities

Are being reduced to rubble

I, a part of this earth, feel

The shocks when

Bombs burst and innocents are killed

I weep for all who are killed in this war

And pray for all

Who are alive and survived!

Gods! Spare some more wisdom

Take away the folly

That calls this bloodshed grand.
