So far 282000 students of government schools, 82000 students of private schools and 76000 college students of the province have also been vaccinated.

During the ongoing drive in Sindh some 16.175 million (1 crore 61 lakh 75 thousand) people have received 1st dose while 10.6 million (1 crore 6 lakh) people have been vaccinated with both doses of the Corona virus vaccine.

This information was shared by Sindh Health Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shah in a meeting regarding Coronavirus vaccination campaign held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah.

The meeting was briefed about the ongoing vaccination campaign in the province including the educational institutions.

It was further informed in the meeting that so far 282000 students have been vaccinated in government schools of Sindh and 82000 students have been vaccinated in private schools while 76000 college students of the province have also been vaccinated.

Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that all private educational institutions of the province should ensure vaccination of their pupils. He said that all Deputy Commissioners should ensure the target of vaccination campaign and in case of non-completion of vaccination target the displeasure notice would be issued to the Deputy Commissioner.

Chief Secretary directed the PPHI officials to also complete the vaccination target.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Qazi Shahid Pervez, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Secretary Colleges Khalid Haider Shah and Secretary School Education Ghulam Akbar Leghari participated while all the commissioners and deputy commissioners participated through video link. (PR)
