Reflections-Beware-Half-TruthsHALF TRUTHS

Truth is a fad and an obsession

With men on suicide mission

For, there is no truth

But its versions

At least it cannot be appreciated

With torn minds and impaired vision.

Our existence is a highly limited affair

Gods know we are granted

Only an undervision of reality

Among humans even with best of men

Much remains unsaid

Not one can claim mastery over the mystery

Yes there were men

Who understood the phenomenon

But only at the cost of losing this world.

Sages and saints who were allegedly

Considered one with God

Had forsaken this world as an illusion.

Too heavy a price for a God

From whom we came

And to whom we shall return one day.

What is the hurry?

This body is no less a blessing

Nor are its passions, like love, profane.

Denying yourself the chances of

Learning back the forgotten alphabet

And undermining its passions

Is also a base desire

Were it all so bad,

Why would God grant us these boons?

Life is a blessing, and God our destination

It is a long journey which needs

The fuel of patience and integrity

It is a testing ground

And God puts obstacles in our way

To test our commitment toward him.

Those who use short cuts

And relinquish the joys of the world

Go for the two birds in the bush

Rather than the one in hand

Thus missing the joys of this world

For the promises of an uncertain tomorrow

Life’s journey is meant for

Our mental and moral development

Life is not an examination

It is a sustained operation

Long jumps and short cuts are odds

Which do not work well with gods.
