20 Flats for Secretaries are to be built in Bath Island; Flats will also be built in Gulshan-e-Iqbal; CS Mumtaz Shah says funds will be earmarked in upcoming budget
Karachi: Sindh government has decided to construct multi-storied buildings in Karachi to provide residential facilities to its officers. The multi-storied buildings will be built in different parts of the city.
Provincial Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah presided over a meeting here on Tuesday to review the plan.
The meeting was told that the residential buildings will be constructed in Bath Island, Saddar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas of the city.
According to plans, two 20-storied buildings will be constructed in Saddar area to provide residential facilities to the officers of Deputy Secretaries and other officers of such level, while 20 flats will be built in Bath Island for accommodating secretaries. Similarly, flats will be built in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, an official handout said.
Chief Secretary said that the accommodation problem of the government officers could be resolved after construction of these buildings. “The allocation of funds for these projects would be made in upcoming budget,” he said.
Mumtaz Shah directed the Secretary, General Administration, to finalize the balloting of the flats built in Landhi area.
Secretary Finance, Secretary General Administration, Deputy Commissioner South and other officers of planning and development department attended the meeting. (PR)
