Poetry: The Meaning of Life

A poem from Bosnia Herzegovina

Then when love finds a way

There is always a reason to smile

That shouldn’t be hidden

In the sky under the clouds.

Then when love finds a way

There is always a reason to smile

That shouldn’t be hidden

In the sky under the clouds.

I was looking for just a little hope

But hope seems to have disappeared

Because the world is no longer the same

Since you’re gone.

I’m still fighting to stay strong

In a time of survival and struggle

The meaning of life is what we don’t have

Not what we have.

I know that having you was great

Until the day you disappeared

I still regret those days of ours

That don’t come back.

I guess there is hope for me too

To stay happy somewhere far away

And if you remember me

I’ll be fine, I promise.
