The Rescue Service 1122 is being launched in Larkana hospitals and in this regard all basic facilities, operation theaters, Surgical and Medical ICUs, trauma center equipped with free supply of medicines will be completed in 3 months.
Dr. Abdul Sattar Sheikh, Medical Superintendent, Chandka Civil Hospital Larkana while talking to this scribe said Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechoho had recently announced the launch of 1122 Rescue Service for hospitals in Larkana on an emergency basis.
Dr. Shaikh said that free operation of knee and hip replacement has also been started in Chandka Civil Hospital. “Recently, this procedure was successfully operated on two patients. This facility is available free of cost for the first time in Pakistan.”
As regards ICUs, he told that Sheikh Zayed Children’s Hospital is constructing ICU with all facilities and a team of specialist doctors from Karachi had recently visited Larkana to inspect the work.
“The ICUs will have separate trained staff and doctors. This would be the first Medical and Surgical (ICU) being set up in Larkana,” he said.
Dr. Abdul Sattar Sheikh further said that implementation of computerized data entry registration scheme has started in all government hospitals of Larkana. In the first phase, Sheikh Zayed Children’s Hospital has been computerized. “Everything has been computerized from registration of each patient till discharge, access to medicines and treatment,” he said adding that other hospitals will also be computerized soon.
The Medical Superintendent further said that all the government hospitals will ensure providing medicines and hygienic diet to the patients undergoing treatment. “In this regard ‘Diet with Honor’ program has been started, as the patients are the guests of the hospital administration and they are trying to provide them the same services as the guests.”
All the steps will be completed in three months after which no one will have to go to Karachi for treatment and all the facilities would be provided to them free of cost.
