American state of Texas to mark Sindhi Cultural Day as National Day

A resolution was passed here to mark the ‘Sindhi Cultural Day’ as a national day in the American state of Texas.

First time in the history of the United States, a request to officially celebrate Sindhi cultural day has been approved in the Texas State Capital building in Austin, the capital of the American state of Texas.

“Today is a very historical day for the Sindhis of North America as the approval of the Sindhi culture and identity ceremony has been announced, in which the Sindhi culture day “Cultural Day” has been officially recognized by the state of Texas,” Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) said in a press release issued on May 25, 2023.

Texas-Sindhi-Culture-Day-1All the Sindhis living in the world always usually celebrate their cultural day on the first Sunday of December on an individual and community basis, but for the first time in the history of the United States, it is being endorsed by the Texas House of Representatives.

The resolution was presented by Dr. Suleman Lalani, representative of the State of Texas. On that occasion, the speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Greek Masali, approved the resolution.

After the approval of the resolution, the Sindhi Cultural Day will be celebrated as an official day in the state of Texas.

On this occasion, this historic and very important step is the tireless efforts of Houston representative and State Representative Dr. Suleman Lalani and leaders of Sindhi community Arslan Malik, Asad Ali Shaikh, Kashif Soomro and Zakia Lalani from Badin district.

During the ceremony, Dr. Salman Lalani also promised to take efforts to build the Sindh Heritage Museum in Houston.

Texas-Sindhi-Culture-Day-2In this prestigious and historic event held at the Texas State Capital Building, the Council General Aftab Chaudhary and Deputy Council General Asher Shahzad Memon of Pakistan Consulate Houston, the famous businessman Muhyiddin Morai, Murtaza Morai, Muazzam Bhangar, Fahad Junejo, Aziz Nizamani, Faisal Memon, A large number of Sindhis from all the cities of Texas including Akash Kaiwal Ramani, Faheem, Sikandar, Ijaz Alamani participated.

On this occasion, the opening ceremony of Sindh Heritage Museum was also organized by Amir Arslan Malik in these historical moments.

In the event, the famous young artist of Sindh, Bilal Mahesar, sang a song in Sindhi language and forced the state members to dance.

All the guests and members of the Assembly who came to this memorable and prestigious event were presented with Sindh Ajrak and cultural souvenir.
