Blind Cricket Tournament begins in Hyderabad
Secretary, Sports & Youth Affairs, Sindh Akhtar Inayat Bhurgri inaugurating the Blind Cricket Tournament.

Tournament will continue to Dec.20; Secretary Sports & Youth Affairs Sindh inaugurated the event.

The Blind Cricket Tournament is being played at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad with participation of six teams from Gilgit-Baltistan, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Okara, Karachi and Hyderabad. The tournament, which started on Thursday, will continue till 20th December.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Blind Cricket Tournament as the chief guest at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh Akhtar Inayat Bhurgari said that Sindh government is utilizing its resources for the promotion of sports and providing maximum opportunities to the players.

He said that visually impaired persons are equally talented as others and there is need to encourage them and provide better opportunities to highlight their talent so that they could enlighten their province and country as well.

Blind-Cricket-Tournament-Hyderabad-Sindh-Courier-1He announced that a reception would be given at Hyderabad Club by the Sports Department in honor of the winning team.

Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of Hyderabad Cricket Club of the Blind and Chief Organizer of the tournament AD Pirzada said that the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh fully cooperated with them in organizing this tournament.

He thanked all the concerned departments, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad and District Administration for their cooperation in organizing the tournament.

In the Blind Cricket At the beginning of the ceremony, special prayer and one minute silence was observed for the martyrs of the Army Public School Peshawar and the National Anthem of Pakistan was also played. (PR)
