Cases of 56 ad hoc officers will be referred to Commission in the context of court order – Sub-committee decides

Karachi: The sub-committee on financial implications of regularization of contractual employees of Sindh Livestock and Fisheries department has decided to send the documents of temporary employees in BS-1 to 15 to the law and finance department for opinion on legal and financial implications while the case of those in BS-17 and 18 will be referred to the Commission as per court order.

The meeting of the sub-committee was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Energy Department Imtiaz Shaikh at the committee room of energy department on Thursday. Minister for Livestock & Fisheries Engineer Abdul Bari Pitafi, Secretary Livestock and Fisheries Qazi Ijaz Mahesar, and Secretary (General Administration) SGA&CD attended the meeting.

The Secretary Livestock and Fisheries informed the meeting that 183 temporary employees of 1st to 15th grade and 56 temporary employees of 17th and 18th grades of the department are awaiting to be regularized their services and have been serving in the department for many years.

The committee decided that the documents of Grade 1 to 15 employees should be sent to the Law Department for getting legal opinion and Finance Department to get opinion on financial implications of regularization so that these employees can be regularized as soon as possible while the case of Grade 17 and 18 employees will be sent to the Commission in the context of court orders.

Minister Abdul Bari Pitafi said that Sindh government is making every possible effort to create employment opportunities for the people and in this regard Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed all Ministers and Heads of Departments to create employment opportunities in their respective departments.

He further said that the present federal government, contrary to its manifesto, has taken away jobs from government employees and has proved the claim of providing 10 million jobs to be hollow. “Unemployed Youngsters should not lose their hope, come forward, support the PPP in overthrowing the government because the PPP is the only party that provides employment and takes other welfare measures, including increasing the salaries of job seekers,” he said.
