‘Get the forest lands vacated as per Supreme Court order’ – Commissioner Baloch

Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch has directed the Deputy Commissioners of the Hyderabad Division and officers of the Forest Department to ensure implementation on Supreme Court orders and intensify the measures against the land grabbers to vacate the encroached forest lands.
He was presiding over a meeting at his office at Shahbaz Building Hyderabad on Wednesday for getting forest lands vacated and mutation-related issues of forest lands.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Tahir Ali Memon, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, Deputy Commissioner Thatta Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Deputy Commissioner Sujawal Arfan Salam Mirwani, Deputy Commissioner Matiari and other concerned officers of the Forest Department. Other Deputy Commissioners of the division attended the meeting via video link.
Commissioner directed the officers of the Forest Department to coordinate with the Deputy Commissioners of their respective districts and inform him about any legal or other issues in this regard and added that no any negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
He directed the concerned officers to take effective measures to protect the vacated lands of Forest Department and ensure that such lands would remain safe from land grabbers in future as well.
He further told the officials of forest department that being the custodian of these lands it is their responsibility to ensure its protection.
He directed all the Deputy Commissioners of the division to supervise the process of mutation and removal of encroachments from these lands.
Briefing on the progress made in this regard, the Deputy Commissioners of the Division informed that the orders the Supreme Court of Pakistan were being implemented in ‘letter and spirit’.
Commissioner was apprised of data related to the mutations and process of getting forest land vacated. (PR)
